Okay, all you TTR veterans . . . We have heard horror stories about the drinking water in Mexico and people coming home - or having their trip spoiled - with "Montezuma's Revenge", even from using ice made with the local water. However, we have seen nothing to that effect on this forum. Is that because it is not a problem at TTR or we should "just KNOW" not to drink the water? :huh:
The resort is supposed to have it's own filtration system, so there is not supposed to be any problems or worries. That being said I think about everyone we met drank bottled water. We did brush our teeth and rinse with water from the sink, and we used the ice the resort provided with our drink. We never had any problem nor did anyone we were with. The only "revenge" any of us experienced was self induced! :beer4:
i accidentaly drank some water while i was down there and got sick for 2 days.............at least thats why i think i was sick. i drank bottled water all week and it was the last friday i was there that i got out of the bed at about 4am and staggered to the bathroom and drank the water because i was dehydrated.
We have been their twice and drank the water/used the ice/bathed and rinsed in the water both times with no adverse affects. (In fact I highly suggest you drink lots of water while there. Hydration is your friend.)
TTR has their own filtration system from what we understand. There are even signs on the bathroom sinks that the water is filtered and is safe...we brushed our teeth, drank a SHITLOAD of frozen daquiries and pina colodas with NO PROBLEMS whatsoever
Never had any probs at all at TTR~~ Don't worry about the water at the hotel, but be careful away from it! Booze doesn't kill everything (Except kickin' the shi- out of your liver) LOL
It's got me twice I've had it twice at TTR. My company does work with a few Mexican companies and my employees travel to Mexico often. The Mexican locals told us when it happens to go to the local pharmacy and buy Cipro. When it happen to me I went right away took one pill and it was gone. You don't need a prescription in Mexico. It works great!
Every time I go to TTR (and I am sure it has nothing to do with the place its self) I come home sick.. mind you I do drink the water..but mine are cold or flu issues.. last April I had to go to Emerg i was so sick when i got home.. likely the flu.. but my family doctor told me to take cold FX or Airbourn while I am partying (drinking) so much ..lol.. she said it keep your ammune system up.. I am def gonna try it this time.. my Bosses dont take kindly to me missing work after my vacation.. lol
