saw the weather in cancun today is cold! We are taking our first trip Jan 17-24, I just assumed it was hot all year! Does anyone know what the temp/weather is usually like in mid-Jan?? Was planning on swimsuits/tanktops, but don't want to freeze!!:ernaehrung005:

We have always found that we need to take some long sleeve shirts, even a sweater or two in the months of Dec/Jan, just in case for evenings out. It can really get cool in the evenings sometimes, but still can get darn hot everyday too.
Especially if you are cold natured to begin with too.

We will be there the 12t-20th of Jan and were there about the same time last year. The mornings and evenings were cool but the pool time during the day was perfect. The late afternoons brought a quick shower that cooled things off, and the nights were not meant to wear shorts.

We must be from a colder climate because last year we were there the same time and I was wearing next to nothing in the evenings. In fact, I brought a huge assortment of wraps, cardigans, and stockings to go with my outfits and brought them all home again unused. The week before however many people did tell me it was much cooler... in other words, it could go either way.

We have gone in early to mid January for years. It is hit or miss on the weather. The last few have had too many misses for us so we are going in late February. We live in the midwest and we need all of our vacation to be hot. Not sitting with blankets wrapped around us at the pool. We have had fabulous years, as well. If the weather is sunny and warm, the positive about January is the humidity is less than in February. Hoping for a very warm trip for you! :xyxthumbs:

(P.S. I would suggest at least one pair of jeans and something with sleeves for in the evening, though. I did not need it last year but I did the year before.)
