I flew from Orlando to Cancun on Friday, and my daughter flew the same day from Orlando to New York.

Neither of us were subjected to the Body Scans or the Pat Down procedures. It was all the news that week about invasion of privacy, etc. and the "don't touch my junk" guy who caused a scene somewhere.

Just a little FYI for you frequent travelers. For us it was business as usual.

Thx! IMO, "touch my junk" guy is an idiot. Premeditated recording looking for a reaction. If I was TSA and a guy did that, I would do the same and simply call a supervisor. :bash:

    Yep...

"Don't touch my junk" guy had a hidden recording device on his person and was asked directly if he had any metalic items on him. He knowingly lied to a federal officer. Obstruction? The US courts are certainly aware of this and a S#@t storm of government law enforcement is on the horizon for this idiot.

I for one am absolutely outraged by the new TSA policies and had I known in advance I never would have purchased tickets to go back at Xmas. This will be out last air trip to the US until the sexual assaults are stopped. I've been watching the ACLU website - the sexual assaults (sticking entire HANDS down people's pants, groping breasts and fonding genitalia) are very inconsistent - sometimes they happen and sometimes they don't but as long as TSA thinks they have this right abuses will continue.

I personally am very thankful to the Don't Touch guy.

How were the lines in Cancun customs? How big of a delay?

8 days ago, a Friday, 1 pm or so, there was not a single person ahead of me when I got to Immigration. Our flight was early and I even had to wait for the INM guys and gals to come out of the office to man their stations. As always I was the first person from my plane to get there. It was really quick.

I had checked luggage and the wait there was still only 10 minutes or so.

Customs was a breeze as well. They had one line that split into two at the scanners. There were maybe 10 people in each line, and one ahead of me waiting for the decision on which scanner line to enter. They opened a 3rd line at that point and I was faster and the 1st on to it. I had two huge checked bags, a carry on suitcase and a backpack and was one person. Did not even slow down as I got the green light.

From the plane to outside the building in maybe 20 minutes. Not my all time record but pretty fast.

Picking up a friend today at 3:30 pm or so and will let you know their experience in terms of time, aggravation, etc. unless she (a poster here) reports in first.

I just got back from a trip to the US and I didn't have any issue with TSA at all. Like TJ said, it's pretty much business as usual. In Richmond VA, I had to go through the body scanner but, of course, you can opt out of that and get a pat-down instead. I'd pick the body scanner over strangers touching me any day. I traveled before and after the holiday rush so didn't have long lines, or delays anywhere along the way either.

It's a shame that a few bad seeds had to make traveling such a hassle but, personally, I am happy TSA goes to such lengths to make sure we are safe while flying.

Is there something wrong with you? It's there job.. you really think they want a want to touch you? Yeah, maybe if your good looking, have a nice body, but what about over weight people, or people who don't take proper hygiene into account? Seriously, chill out, and stop whinning. I'm betting if you were on the "underwear bomber" plane from last xmas, I bet you would be okay with this.. even though nothing happened, it could have happened, had they given him a full body pat down/scan, it would have all been prevented.

Your ignorance is appalling. Great Britain had him on a no-fly list. His father tried to warn the US Embassy but they did not listen.

There are already studies showing that the actions of TSA personnel on young children are "grooming" them for future pedophiles and I can guarantee you, as a rape victim, that I'm not just fucking whining about an inconvenience. When you allow a stranger to put their hands down your pants, to feel the scrotum and penis of your 12 year old son, to rub their hands over your 10 year old daughter's prepubescent chest, then I'll remember you're one sick puppy. Do you regularly allow strangers to feel your labia? Apparently so, since you have no problem letting TSA do it.

Their actions, by their own words, don't make any difference other than a "punishment" for opting out of the PornoScan. These procedures are ineffective in determine terrorists. They have very plainly said that the sexual assaults they are forcing on the flying public are simply punishment for opting out of the PornoScan.
