We have done it two years in a row and plan to do it a third when we go next year. We brought another couple with us this year and suggested it to another couple who did it and everyone LOVED it. It is an absolutely AMAZING adventure and the staff is soooooo accommodating it is amazing. The food is incredible and the adventure is awesome.

Suggestions for the trip. Bring a towel and wear shorts and Tshirt. Wear sensible shoes. IE Sandals with straps or Tennis shoes not thong flip flops. Bring a bathing suit with you to change into for the Cenote trip. (There is a bathroom onsite to change into your swimsuit and back into your dry clothes for the ride home.) Bring at least $120 US in cash. The video and picture package will run you about $70 for the combo and the Tshirts are about $18 a piece. (All values given in US dollars). Spend the $3 for the bug repellent gel and apply it liberally. (You can probably split a bottle with another couple and have plenty.) Beer is free. Mixed drinks are $5 but you'll only need one!! :D

When they ask if you want to go upside down, DO IT!!!!! :) Tell Diego and Sally the couple with the twins from the US say hi!! :)

I liked the idea before your post but now it has become one of my main outing destinations after the early january cruise of coarse.
I will tell Diego and Sally you made it top of the list for me with your comments.
    Thank You!

Do you know if we have to pre book or if it's first come first serve?
    Either way I'm in.

We usually book ours with the trip, but even if you don't there are onsite trip reps that can help. There is also a trip booking stand directly across the street from the resort that (I've heard but not confirmed myself) has lower prices for exactly the same trip than the onsite reps.

If you book with your package thru a site like orbitz or travelocity, then you'll have to see the onsite rep to schedule the actual day. Either way you can go anyday you want to. I suggest waiting till you get there, then see what the weather looks like. Try and pick a day with overcast weather (small chance of rain is ok too). As long as it isn't outright pouring cats and dogs you'll have a blast. The overcast and drizzly days make for a cooler trip in the jungle.
