We have been to Isla many times, both on our own and on a booze cruise. Each has their own merits, but we prefer to go on our own so we can spend the entire day over there, drinking, shopping and exploring. This way, if we want to stay longer we can. The entire day costs less than $20 each and that is the boat over, booze all day and a golf cart to explore the Island. Is any one interested?:mnm:
we are there dec 20 to jan 5. Dont shoot me if the prices are slightly higher but trust me, it wont be expensive and you get your own experience. Not to slam the booze cruise because they are a ton of fun, it is just a totaly different day. We also hang out at playa norte at the topless beach and bars.

It's an island - you can take a catamaran (like Steve's Booze Cruise) or a ferry and spend a day there. Great beaches and it's small enough so you can tour the perimeter on a scooter or golf cart on your own. It's a beautiful ride over and something you'll be glad you got to see.
We are from Mexico and only have seen playa norte(north beach), it´s a beautiful place among the palm trees, I think a lot of the people on this beach comes from europe, It´s topples beach but with only a few persons. Never have seen the other side of the island. By the way, the transport to isla is cheap departing from a dock that is located near the buses that goes to xcaret.
Not sure what day, lets play it by ear. The ferry over is only a few steps from our resort so any day will do.
