We are definitely still part of the Commonwealth. We just don't sing god save the queen as often anymore. Actually kids don't sing O Canada anymore either in school. The commonwealth is just like the U.N. we're part of if but it has no real political power. If you go to a Rememberance Day ceremony you will still hear god save the queen along with O Canada of course for example.
Well there you go, shows you what this Canadian knows.. I thought Trudeau did somthing about that when he was in power. I haven't been to a Remeberance Day ceremony for many years, I honor soldiers in my own personal way. but thanks for the heads up.
Haha no worries, Truedeau did repatriate the constitution, but nothing that changes the relationship with the Commonwealth. He was too busy flipping off photographers and making the NEP!
rdubnpk So, the royals are just figureheads as they, basically are in England, as well. That is a ton of money to support a bunch of "appendixes". Of course with what out congress pisses away on a daily basis....... At least you all have something to show for it.
