My wife and I will be going to Temptation for the first time in January 2011 (7th-14th). Any advantage to being on the ground floor vs 2nd / 3rd / etc., besides the obvious of not having to climb stairs (especially after a "few" drinks)? Can't wait to go!! Chris and Alicia
I asked for 2nd floor last year because I had seen a thread or 2 about making sure you don't leave the balcony door unlocked (or open) if you're on the 1st floor because things could end up missing. I think I would go 1st floor this year for the obvious convinience reasons.
First floor is a good idea for a few reasons. But I sort of like being on the 3rd. floor since I'm always a little concerned about "critters"(snakes & who knows what). I figure that they have other options before they get to me. It also seems to me that the 3rd. floor ceilings (at TR) are higher so the room feels bigger. 3rd. floor has less foot traffic so quieter(if you like to sleep). But you will need a porter for your bags for sure.
Ok fine, I'll look like the drunk. I like the 2nd floor above Paty O's. Always close to the bar and I'm usually one of the last to crash anyway so the noise doesn't bother me with a good pair of earplugs.
Ground level would be our choice. It's quicker to the pool & bar! Ocean view is over rated. I personally think the view is better at the pool
We've been on all 3, though the ground is more convenient, I was more worried about break ins etc. nothing like that happened just my own concern. And as far as the third floor you really do get use to the stairs after a day or two, slippery when wet be careful. And we were on the 2nd floor right by Patio's and it really wasnt that bad as with noise, our attitude was if someone was keeping us awake may as well join them.
We all have our own opinions and I will take (&/or pay extra for) a great view whenever we are staying on the water. We always stay in the rooms that overlook the Sexy Pool and the beach, and try to get as high up as possible. We have been in room 3408 several times and will keep asking for that room as long as I can lug my fat axx up a few steps. Perfect room for enjoying the balcony view or whatever else goes on.
We had groung floor outside quiet pool last time, it was great. No noise and only a 2 foot drop if I fell off the edge. One night had a very drunk naked girl climb into our patio and ask me why we were sitting on her balcony. Her drunk naked boyfriend finally caught up to her and put her to bed
