Looking to book a wk in Dec. My wife is concerned about the the beach. The beach is very important part of our stay. Is it as bad as some of the reviews have mentioned? Thanks for your advise.
I my experience they keep it very clean. It is a bit rocky feeling on the feet if you are going for a swim it is a ways out until it is deep enough. I have enoughed a few skinny dipps in it though!! LOL But... it could have changed? I usually am at the sexy pool?!
2009 at the Sun Palace on the ocean side, absolutely gorgeous beach, but the water was ALWAYS too rough to be in, 2010 at Temptations, nice beach and the water was always calm. Do you want beautiful sand or water you can actually get in without having to worry about being washed away to Africa?
My bit of advice. If the beach is extremely important to you then Temptations is the wrong resort for you. Possibly one the worst I've been at. That being said everything else more than made up for the less than quality beach. We did spend some quality time in the water by renting jet ski and further down the beach. Give it a shot. Worst case you spend a week in great weather with beautiful, fun people.
i have to agree. we went the bahamas before temptations and were REALLY disappointed by the beach at Temptation. but the people (and... ahem... activities) more than made up for the beach (or lack of?).
The "bay" side beaches are not nearly as nice as the caribbean (east) facing ones. Keep in mind though that the beaches are owned by the Mexican Gov't and accesso de playa is available from many spots in the hotel zone. You could have a great time at Temptations and still visit beaches on the caribbean side by just hopping on the R-1 bus and knowing where to exit like by the Ritz. Since I like to body surf I need to be where the waves are! If you need a map let me know.:daveandmo:
The water is just deep enough for some skinny dipping and is pretty calm. We actually never sat at beach, as the Canadian said "to far from the bar".
