another downtown cancun question, Is hanging around the park "Parque las Palapas" at night still as fun as it was?

We will be back in November, Although we stay on the beach in the "Zone" we have always spent our evenings downtown in the restaurants and bars around the park.
hows everything looking these days? we were there last winter but it was to early for that part of town...Also hows Market 28 looking ?

    thankx Again,
    eugene

    Eugene,
Parque las Palapas is still a nice place to hang. Weekend nights are best. There are some old and new places on Tulum and Yaxchilan in terms of restaurants. The Rincon del Vino wine bar has moved to the street to the left as you are facing the previous location. Just walk to the left and you will walk in the front door as you cross the one way to the left part of Alcatraces.

Market 28 is still going strong. I needed some silver BIC lighter covers not long ago for a friend in the states and I found better deals roaming around in the market which is the first stop on Tulum as you get off the R-1 bus; across from Chedraui.

I also have been buying a few kitchen clay products, like the beautiful, but not so cheap Talavera, at Market 23. From the bus terminal walk about 3 blocks farther on Tulum and hang a left on the one way going in direction of Cedro. The market is a block down. If you take the right at the market, the clay place (great for gifts) in on the right after the little drink store and the shoe repair.

    Have fun and good hunting.

Happy to hear that!... It looks like Piemonte is still there! Would you know if the same folks are still running the place?

    Yes and Yes and Yummy.

You ought to venture out on a Thurs - Sat to Pozoleria Castillo for some Pozole. In the hinterlands but easily accessible by bus and a 10 minute walk or bus and a $20 peso taxi.

Safe. Half block off Lopez Portillo, near Uxmal. BEYOND YUMMY.

You will be the only Gringos there unless you invite me. LOL
