this is true.. i actually wanted to take this question back after reading a little bit about the camera issues and pervs. i CERTAINLY dont want to be lumped in with them, just a voyeur. lol. so we will just watch and enjoy.. possibly applaud. :clappyinghappy:

about cameras.. i guess its safe to say pictures can be taken anytime (clothed) and ask others before taking them if they are topless?

I think I am down at the same time you guys are... how about we make our own balcony show panel a la American Idol? Or have cards with 1 to 10 on them and score the participants? No cameras but a discussion on the high and low points of the event?

Not going to be a perv but I can be entertained (especially since I'm solo and don't expect to be any ladies plaything unless this trip really goes off the hook!)

Trust me... if we put on a show and it was "archived" we'd get angry.

I think you misconstrued the comment on 'archiving' It was on my part a half joke, half ethical question.

If someone makes an effort to draw attention to themselves by putting on a 'balcony show' who would be more at fault if it were photographed or videotaped? The person doing the action or recording it?

All I am saying is that there are two schools of thought on the issue. Each with valid viewpoints. Just as it would be wrong to record those instances let alone distribute them (goes without saying in my mind at least). How much responsibility lies on the person who is practically yelling "LOOK AT ME!!"?

Maybe I'm out to lunch but I think that you can make a case for either viewpoint.

If I put on a balcony show I would be upset if it wasn't archived...lol

I need proof, no one would believe it happened otherwise....pics or it didn't happen...lol

I really don't think so. If I like to have sex on balconies at night it doesn't mean that I want to have my picture taken. Even if I like people watching it still doesn't mean I want to have my picture taken.

Just because a woman takes her top off around the pool doesn't mean she want's someone to take her picture. It just means that she want's to take her top off.

I never meant to say that it was ethically right or not for someone to take pictures of it. Only that it is a risk you have to take if that's what you want to do. I haven't done it myself but the adrenaline rush you would get by doing something you shouldn't be must make the experience more worthwhile.

Also that's one area the hotel staff wouldn't likely help you, there are signs all over saying that people will be kicked out for public sex, but none outside of certain events (lingere night for example) for cameras.

It can make you angry but right or wrong there would be risk associated with a balcony show which the participants have to accept.

Of course one could always split the difference and get one of the jacuzzi rooms with the drawdown screen outside. Then you get the feeling like you are in public but still protecting your privacy.

Heck let's all just get along and agree to disagree! :ernaehrung015:

ethics are subjective....i would be just as pissed if my photos were taken as the next person but that is a risk you take when engaging in those activities where you can be seen by the public....

I wasn't getting angry at you.. for sure... don't read anything into my post.

From your post I took the question "who's fault would it be?" and gave my answer.

The fault (IMHO) lay's totally on the person with the camera. Just for the same reasons I gave regarding the woman at the pool.
