Yeah, it wouldn't be so bad if we were flying out of Halifax or St. John's, but we are flying out of Montreal...hopefully it won't be too bad! Thanks for your help guys. I will get some Pesos before I go, and maybe a few american dollars as well...I don't want to be carrying too much cash around with me. I am sure after hanging out on this forum for 4 months before I leave will give me the knowledge I need to have a safe and fun trip outside of my little town in Northern Canada.
I always prefer to get pesos personally. Why get the currency of a country you aren't even travelling to? Makes no sense to me!
That makes sense. I noticed that the outings are quoted in USD, like the club outings. Can you pay for that in Pesos? or use you ATM card?
Oh yeah don't worry about them not accepting pesos! If you are really concerned about the price, find out the cost in both pesos and USD. Do a little homework before you go and know the exchange rate and then pay accordingly. There is a USD bank machine in the gift shop and a bank machine that dispense pesos at a convenience store just outside the hotel. So you can easily do either or. :flagcanada:
Here's a layout of the resort We always take US $2.00 bills w/ us for tipping - apparently a good luck symbol to the staff and you only have to carry half as many bills!:aktion061:
They prefer American even though it's worth the same pretty much. And coins are harder to exchange. And I thought that Steve had said on the boards once that staff didn't like $2 bills as much because not many banks took them?
Never had a prob on this end- but hell, I'm not cashing them either! They sure took a 100 of them from me last April!! LOL
