I stand corrected, there were camera's allowed, but discouraged.........saw it lead to numerous confrontations. The people that were around us were very heads up, if someone pointed a camera somewhere other than their immediate "group" there was usually a confrontation..... The next day, or later in the day those same person(s) normally left their camera's in the room....or so we think. One of our friends had to physically remove a memory card from someone's camera.....that got ugly. Camera's do not belong down there.....it usually leads to a problem.....I will apologize for using the term a**holes......but those were the ones that we had problems with. Unfortunately, most of them were married/attatched and down there (at the sexy pool) without their spouses. Did not ever have a problem with single guys that I know of. Unfortunately, people were kicked out of the resort, it's also unfortunate that one of the people that took exception to it was also removed because the "photographer" and he got physical because he wouldn't erase the pics. If they weren't allowed, there wouldn't be a problem, losing your accommodations/vacation because of a camera, is a pretty good deterrent.
just being a technical twit here, but once you're out in a public place you're pretty much fair game unless the place you're at has rules specifically banning cameras. That said, IIRC the beach at TTR isn't private property, so even an outright ban on the property doesn't mean much since anyone walking the beach can simply post-up with a telephoto lens and snap pics. Hell, they could do it even off the property and it's attached beach and there's really nothing you, I, or anyone could do about it. The last time this thread was made I posted about the various spy-cameras available to anyone with a few bucks. You ban cameras and they WILL appear on the property, I'm willing to put money on that. That guy sitting by the sexy pool that has been writing in his journal all day with that nice looking pen probably has one of these: Spy Pen Camera 8gb - Spy Camera and by the time he leaves it'll be full, so you'll STILL see those pics posted online. Last time I checked, cameras were not permitted at either Hedo resorts, yet it took barely a minute to find covert-looking pics online that were taken from the clothing-optional areas. Bottom line, it's pointless to try to ban cameras all together. Someone with the Desire and ingenuity to snap pics will do so no matter what so the best bet is for us, as a collective, to police blatant activity and just accept that even as we are demanding that pics be erased from a camera, someone has probably snapped a couple dozen without our knowing.
Kuff, In my 4 trips down I have taken over 5000 pics. If I were willing to let anyone see them all you would find that none of them focus on anything that would disturb anyone around the pool. We go down with a wild group and have alot of fun. They are all allowed to see the pics. FWIW I am also very quick to be confrontational if someone has taken inappropriate pics but strangely nobody has even even given me a second glance because I only take pics of those I am there with. I take it so far as to only take pics of my wife in Ms Temptations and none of the other contestants. OUT OF RESPECT. The problem has never been the camera. Its the individual. And by the way. Damn you for getting a response from me I had planned on staying out of this thread.
Actually that's not true. You still need permission to use my "likeness". This is why all websites will have you check off that it is either you in the pics or videos or that you have permission to post them. I know of one situation where some idiots posted a cruel video that they didn't have rights to post on You Tube and with 1 email to the administrator it was taken off. As for your other comment.... no .. a ban would never get rid of all cameras. Just like you'll never get rid of all crime. But it would GREATLY limit the amount of pics out there. As seen with Hedo you may be able to find covert pics but you don't find many. And yes... at one time there were NO cameras allowed at the sexy pool and in Nice shoes. During that time, finding pics online of what went on at Blue Bay was nearly impossible. And when you did find pics the quality was very bad because the pictures were taken covertly. KuffandVix, if you want to get your point across try to avoid calling people names in here.
Just remember the first rule of camera debate thread everyone... Don't take pictures of camera debate thread! Oops... Forget it next trip I'm bringing down an etch a sketch. at worst someone will just shake it on me :icon_mrgreen:
no not at all ian :aktion030: i think rules/laws are very important and strongly support the ones that discourage acts of malum in se (things which are clearly against basic respect for other people, their space and their possesions - see natural law here) what i don't like no let me rephrase this correctly what i fuckin hate is the creation of malum prohibitum offenses that seem to have no boundary whatsoever somebody dont wear a seatbelt - take awat dey drivers permit somebody used a cell phone in a school zone - fine dey ass somebody did not come to a complete stop at a stop sign - ticket dey ass somebody used a camera at Temptation - chunk dey damn camera in the trash truth of the matter is this is probably far more than just a camera debate for me ..............most already have gathered this im sure ...............its just i am so burned out with people who seem to think that every single problem on the planet can be made better with a new rule or law (rules/bans/laws which theoretically makes self control and individual responsibility irrelevant and perhaps even obsolete) as any person on gods green earth (with half a brain and a decent laptop) can clearly see or figure out - the goal in creating rules/laws/bans (whatever the hell you want to call them) is not to actually punish mala en se related issues (things which are obviously wrong in and of itself - see taking shaddy pictures of people without their permission as an appropriate example of a mala en se issue) no that would be just too damn difficult to punish people who actually were not acting well and doing things that were clearly wrong and certainly against basic natural law so.........instead? lets just all make it our goal to create as many rules/laws/bans.............. eliminating personal freedoms (i.e. reward for responsible behavior) and thereby - lo and behold - eliminating the need for all intentional responsible behavior i guess it should make perfect sense now why a libertarian like myself just can't grasp it all....... because what it basically all comes down to in blinding glimpse of the obvious reality nutshell is this…….. there is truly no need whatsoever for anyone to be responsible for thier own actions because rules/laws/bans render everything irrelevant as to whether one does or does not want to act responsibly........ Basically the assumption is clear that even responsible people cant be trusted to act according to basic natural law and so we just continue to create as many malum prohibitum offenses as possible in order to make all of us responsible people suffer even more than we already have to because of this ever present insatiable Desire to consistently and constantly bombard decent people with a litanty of bull shit rules and laws which avoid the true problem IRRESPONSIBLE DISRESPECTFUL PEOPLE WHO DON’T ACT CORRECTLY AND NEVER HAVE TO SUFFER FOR THEIR ACTIONS So no ian I absolutely love laws/rules/bans - just the right ones that are correctly enforced !!!!! the best rob ps - i swear on my sons grave i will never write another post on this subject ever again (this thread included) :aktion061:
:bowdown: AGREE!!!!!! Love it man! I go there to have fun and say who gives a shit man!! Have fun and let go if you don't want it pictured then don't go! I have to say I continue my fun from the trip for EVER due to having our camera along to replay the fun times and see pics of my new friends! God knows if I didn't take a pic now and then I wouldn't remember any of it due to the amount of drinks I have consumed! :deadhorse: let it go man.. we will not miss ya if you can't handle the fun and laughs.
Rob, Its good to hear another Libertarians view. I try and try to explain to people what it means to a libertarian. Some people just seem to believe in rules over responsibility. Cheers!:lotsofmichaelfs:
Rob, mike, you guys will enjoy this one. In the Philadelphia burbs they are trying to pass a law that requires people to lock their car doors. If they don't lock their car doors (while it is parked/unoccupied) then they will be subject to fines. Talk about ridiculous rules! What in the world is going on where the 'land of the free' requires you to lock your doors or be fined? So many of these types of laws get passed way too easily. Another one that fires me up is middle America trying to regulate pay radio (satellite) and dictate what can and can not be said. I might have to move to Canada but I hate the cold!
