i used a weightwatchers diet plan and lost the 20lbs i was aiming for in about 7 weeks. And now i have a different attitude to food completely. i no longer snack all the time, and even if i do weaken i eat some ryvita crispbread instead of chocs or stodgy food. Unfortunately i suffer from arthritis so i have to be particular with the exercise i choose. Swimming is great and really benefits me. I wont have a gym bod but then i am who i am. I do know what you mean about the photos though! I always wish i had worked out more lol :huepfen021:
Looking at your pictures... I don't think you have much to worry about you do look... you both look fantastic
I thought about starting a thread like this, too. Within the last couple of weeks, I've been hitting the gym hoping not to be the chubby guy by the pool. Biggest thing for me is diet...I downloaded a calorie tracking application on my phone, and MAN, does it make a difference in what you eat when you realize how much time you'd have to spend on the treadmill to burn it off.
3 trips a year spaced out properly helps keep us in the gym and on the right track. Hubby tore his bicep tendon 12 weeks ago, and its kept us from going on our usual October trip. Still we love to work out and stay in shape, but it gets harder and harder as 50 years of age is coming quickly.
Congrats! I'm a stones throw away from 30 and I've been telling myself I'm not just working out or dieting but doing a lifestyle change. I just came in from my morning run. I love having the energy and endurance. I'm pretty resigned to the fact that I'll always be huggable but I'd rather be somewhat in shape and healthy.
