You can read all of My TR if you Desire, but here is what I don’t think has been said some where in another post.

    1) Try to find someone to share your Transfer from airport to hotel with if this is your first time and use USA Transfers
    2) Research if you will be able to use US dollars.
    3) Tip the staff, I don’t care if they don’t smile one time while they serve you. They work hard for nothing and they are very concerned for their jobs and it shows.
    4) Outlets are standard 120V AC
    5) Cell phone coverage was not a problem, but turn off data
    6) When making dinner reservations its not good enough to stand outside the seafood restaurant. Apparently you must be seated at the table right inside the doors to secure your spot.
    7) Find someone on here that is getting to the hotel before you and beg them to make dinner reservations for you for several days ahead.
    8) Order more than one entrée (they are small) and be very clear that you expect more than one or it will get lost in translation.
    9) Play every game they will let you. They are a blast.
    10) Talk with as many people as you can when you are there. Everyone is so cool and there to have fun. It is a different world.
    11) Towel game. Tuesday – Thursday I could still get a Chair at 9am. Friday most were gone by 7:30A.
    12) Get tipsy before you go to lingerie night. It was damn near impossible to get drinks

My wife and I were here from Sept. 6 to 10. I am just now getting to my trip report because I was absolutely exhausted when I got home. Partying 20 hours and sleeping 4 will do that to you.

Several weeks prior to going to Cancun I contacted Lora and Darrin because I saw that they were getting in the same day as us. Turns out it was 15 minutes after us so we shared a Van with USA Transfers and although it wasn’t much cheaper ($10-15) It was totally worth it. We partied, ate and drank with them for our entire stay and they made our time a lot of fun. Darrin had shots waiting for us as we exited the airport. What else can I say!

Trip over to the Hotel was short and painless just like the ride back. If you choose a transfer with someone else, don’t blame me.

I had done the express hotel check-in online a few days prior so it was a breeze. Smelled the time-share lady approaching after check-in and just told her that I had been to the hotel before and that was the end of that. Our room was ready, Lora and Darrin’s was not, so they brought their stuff up to our room and it was off to the pool. Yet another bonus to meeting friends before we even got to the hotel.

Room was 1223 (I think); View was great, right over Margaritas, with Sport pool and Ocean in the background. Bed was so hard I would wake up sore every morning and that was only after “sleeping” for 3-4 hours. But if I had slept any longer it would have cut into the party. Channel 12 is awesome, not sure what the rest of the room looked likeJ, but I had no complaints. Side note, must have abused the room key or lock at some point because it wouldn’t work. Called the front desk and there was some dude fixing it in 15 minutes. Left $2-5 under an empty bottle of water everyday, new one showed up every time and boy did we NEED water.

Within the first 1-2 hours of being at the hotel Darrin and I were playing an interesting game of darts. This is where the laughing started and it stopped when I passed out on the plane on the way home. The games are great. Just do it. The entertainment staff is just plain awesome, as is the rest of the staff.

Went to Margaritas for lunch around 4PM the first day. It sucked! Never went back because the buffet was awesome for breakfast and lunch. Everyone in our group went to catch some ZZ’s after lunch, but I decided to head back to Diego’s bar until it closed and I am glad I did. 5-7PM gets really crazy at the sexy pool after everyone has been drinking all day. All I can say is the more you sleep the less you laugh.

We didn’t have reservation the first night so we went to the seafood restaurant. I thought it was great and could have eaten there for every meal. I liked this place because when I ordered 3 entrée’s they brought me 2. More on that later.

After dinner we went to Patty O’s for a couple drinks and saw some people twirling fire. Its just one more cool thing about this place. We went the hotel group over to Coco Bongos. $45 gave us a coach style bus ride over, all drinks, and admission. I hate Vegas type shows, but this was worth every penny. 4 hours of jumping and dancing totally wore me out. Hopped a cab back to the hotel. Think I paid $12.

Tip: As we were landing in Cancun the Steward gets on the intercom and says we can’t use Dollars in Mexico. I never had a peso on me and I never had a problem. But, there was some note on the hotel desk as we were leaving talking about this so it is worth checking in to.
We may have gone back to Patty O’s after Coco Bongos, can’t really remember. I do know that we went swimming in the ocean every night we were there- very sobering and I needed it. Apparently if you have bottoms in your possession while swimming the security guards are cool with it. If all else fails give them a twenty. It works magic.

I’ll see if I can get to day 2 tomorrow.

    Day 2

    1) Bring your own towel to reserve a chair
    2) Take Pictures (yea, yea just don’t be the telescopic lens guy)
    3) Use good 70+ sunscreen
    4) Take 1 quart zip lock bags to keep tip money and room key in. I put this on my head under my hat.
    5) Money talks if you want to get into the Asian or Italian restaurant without reservations
    6) Bring your own cup. I m sure you’ve seen that before. We brought 24oz cups and thought they were perfect.
    7) Chemicals in the pool will damn near eat metal. Your white suit will be screwed.

Went down to the pool to around 7-7:30 to reserve our chair. We brought a towel specifically to reserve a chair and I’m glad I did. That was part of the 5P-7P entertainment I mentioned before. There were some people ready to fight over who’s towel was who’s (or is it whom). When you see the sea of chairs with red towels and try to pick out yours, you will understand how honest mistakes can be made. By the way said “fight” was the only time I ever saw anyone get worked up. Another reason this place was great.

Went back up to the room to prepare for the day – Sunscreen and chugging water. We met up with Lora and Darrin for breakfast and this is where my opinion of cameras changed. We reviewed pictures from the day before and were laughing so hard during breakfast that we turned a lot of heads. I’m talking crying laughing at breakfast. It was great. Had a lot of Baileys in our coffee, so much so that by day Fredrico (I think) started bringing water size glasses of Baileys.

    Quagmire-

Next comes my biggest Beef with this hotel. I went to the seafood restaurant to make my dinner reservations for the week. I got there about 9:45 and stood just outside the door. Apparently that wasn’t good enough because when the lady taking the reservations showed up at 10:10, 3 other people had gone inside. I followed but somehow they got to make reservations before me. They had one spot at the Asian at 7:30 that couple number one took. They didn’t have another spot in the Asian restaurant before 10:30 for the rest of the time we were there. There was only one night that the Italian restaurant was not booked. Despite the BS we were still able to get into each restaurant at a decent time one of the nights. It just took a little extra cash at the Italian place and waiting around at the Asian place. Again, my advice is try to find someone to make reservations for you before you even get there. If you do try to make reservations at 10 AM park your ass at the table right as you walk in the door. I just think this whole process is BS.

While I was getting dinner reservations Lora and Darrin went across the street to a convenience store to get Red Bull. After the previous night we needed it, and it’s extra at the bar and expensive. They also brought two bottles and Patron and put one at Diego’s Bar. The bartenders knew that I was hanging out with Lora and Darrin, but they would not give me any Patron if Darrin wasn’t around. So I think it is safe to say if you bring your own stuff, it safe behind the bar.

After getting screwed on dinner reservations I went to Diego’s bar by the Sexy pool. I started every day with a 4oz packet of dry Gatorade with water. I played a ton of volleyball so I had to stay hydrated. I also won Ironman this day and I am certain it was the Gatorade.

Around 6PM we caught a cab to the market because the Mrs. wanted to shop for some jewelry. All was cool until my buzz started wearing off, but never fear the dude selling us jewelry just so happened to have a 1.75 of tequila behind the counter. Four shots later we didn’t find what we were looking for but tipped anyway.

If I remember right the rest of the evening was dinner at the seafood place, dancing at Paty O’s and finally our dip in the ocean to sober up.

    Stay Tuned for Day 3

Yeah, and don't be the guy with the underwater camera in the sexy pool taking underwater pics of women up close - pretty fukn creepy when you aren't talking to them, hanging out with them, friends with them, etc.

When a guy is going around the pool holding a camera underwater and just hovering around various groups of people, not joining in conversation just holding the camera underwater pointed at coochies ....conclusions are going to be jumped to.

So far so good. Lol keep warning Alec about not being the telescopic guy. Boy I think I will get an eye full when I finally see the pics. I had the underwater camera.....broke my strap, got drunk and only took 30 pics all trip. Pretty sad. Thank god for Alec. Still just the same I'm glad I met you guys. Okay where the hell is day 3.

    Day 3,

I just realized that I can’t remember much from these next few days and they all seemed to run together anyway. I’ve been looking at other’s TR from the same days and you guys aren’t helping to refresh my memory much. I guess yall were just as drunk ;) Darrin must have lost his camera because there is very little photographic documentation for Wednesday. That may be for the best. So here goes, this may all be made up.

Did the typical 7:30 – 8 drop the towel off at the chairs. As I said, toward the end of the week there must be a lot more people at the hotel because by 8AM many of the chairs were already taken. This must have been the day that I started out by playing cornhole with Glynn (HA!). I never really understood why the Staff had such a problem getting people to play the games. They were a ton of fun and I got to meet so many people. I think this was the day we play volleyball in the sports pool but it wasn’t Tequila Volleyball. Bummer I was looking forward to that one. I’d say it’s time for an update on the schedule of games because there were some new games and the times and days were definitely different from those posted on this forum. I’d love to be the guy to do it, but I can’t remember enough.

I think the day consisted of the typical antics around the pool. I know we left the pool early this day because we wanted to go to the Italian restaurant that evening. I went over there around 5:30 and asked the Concierge (Mario ?) If he could get us in and had $10 in my hand. He didn’t take it, but said to check back in an hour. Went back around 6:30, $10 in hand, and they were able to make a reservation for 6 at around 7:30PM!! Dinner was fantastic, but I have two complaints. First, I ordered three entrees and got two and second dinner took forever. It’s not their fault that dinner took so long when I ordered three things and they do the sexy coffee for 6 of us, but damn it I was missing the party. We headed over to Patty O’s after dinner and resumed drinking and meeting some great people. I think it was this night on the beach that I learned that the security guards know what they are doing. At the most inopportune time one of these bastards pops up out of know where saying we can’t do what we were doing on the beach. I could have killed him, but instead ran crack ass naked to our pile of clothes and got a $20. Poof security dude was gone.

Excellent way to do a TR... this way we gotta check back to see your progression... and yes some days seem to run into each other. Having a camera helps bringing back some of the "foggy" days ...
