ok, i messed up and posted a reply instead of a new thread before, i am so excited i found this site! my husband and i are going to temptations for the first time in feb, we usually go to hedo. decided to try something new. i have a couple questions, we booked oceanview. i like a quiet room, we love to party and have fun, but when i want to sleep, well, quiet is best, is there a particular block of rooms or section that is more quiet that is still oceanview? and how many floors does this resort have? i usually book top floor oceanview for the view, we are from iowa, we have no water to look at here! also, is lingerie night the only theme night? and i have read about the booze cruise, we have done them at hedo and had a blast, is this a must do while at temptations? are there more must do's to do? thanks so much for your help! We were there last Feb and had an awesome time, we will be repeating in Feb 2011. The resort has 3 or 4 floors, I don't remember for sure. DO NOT get a room by pady O's. This is loud until the wee hours of the morning. We were put there when we first got there, spent 2 nights and hated it. We were able to switch rooms to one overlooking the quiet pool which was much better for us, there are also a lot of rooms called Garden View, I think, they are also away from Pady O's. whatever you do, if you like quiet when you sleep, stay away from Pady O's! lingerie night is basically the only theme night sponsored by the resort. It is an absolute blast and a must do on your stay. There are other theme nights that people from this forum organize which sound like a lot of fun. Steves Booze cruise is also a must, though we missed dates last year. As February 2011 approaches, keep a watch on this forum for info on the cruises.
We are going to Temptations for our "2nd" time in Feb 2011! (2/23 - 2/27) and absolutely *CANNOT* wait!!! Our room was on the 2nd floor right by Patty O's (or Paddy O's) ??... and yes indeed it is 100% true it is LOUD LOUD LOUD - but honestly - I'm not a "need it 100% quiet" sleeper - but believe me I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THAT I'm NOT THE NORM! LOL! Yes we heard LOTS of loud noises and screams til at least 4 or so am each night - but again it didn't really bother me because I liked the fact that we had a nice view of the sexy pool and ocean (a bit of trees though ...). I think some buildings have 4 floors and some have 3 and I dont believe there are elevators ... *GACK* right ?!? LOL Eh the exercise is always welcome ... HA HA! I didnt get a chance to do the 'booze' or 'boobs' cruise but man oh man do I *REALLY* wanna do that this go around! Do you have your set of dates picked out yet when you'll be there ?! I think there will be a LOT more posters on this forum than me that can give you tips and stuff and provide more info since I've only been there once I still sorta feel like a newbie - but one thing I can say is that *EVERYONE* seemed very nice and very friendly and it was just an all and all great time !!
We are going in February 2011 for our 4th time! Ask for a room away from Pady O's. We had one there once and it is loud. I have never had an oceanview, even paying extra for a jacuzzi room. One year, if I went out onto the patio, I could see the bay. Most roooms will be poolview. Last year, we finally were able to go to lingerie night. It was so much fun. Now I have a better idea of what everyone was wearing and I will step it up a bit this year. As for the booze cruise....never made it there yet. One year, the water was choppy and I was hung over. One year, we missed the boat because we went to the wrong area. Not sure if we will do it. It takes up a whole day and it is hard to leave poolside. Just depends on what everyone we are hanging out with wants to do. I hear it is fun. You can try e-mailing your room request ahead of time. The only time it worked for me was when I booked directly with them. I usually book through Apple or Orbitz but one year I did them all seperately. Let me know if you have any other questions.
What are your dates for February Western and Theresa ? I'm seeing so many people that are going in Feb and please forgive me if you've already told me in another post what your dates are and I've forgotten! LOL Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the "boobs" cruise - if it takes up the whole day - that's a whole day of partying by the pool that will be missed and we will only be staying from Wed - Sun (which really equates to Wed - Sat since we check out and leave Sunday ...) so I dont know .. guess it has to depend as it gets closer and how much fun I hear they are (which they seem to be a blast)! We'll see !!!
Princess, we haven't even started looking at prices yet. We may try to go sometime between the 20th and 28th, but nothing set in stone yet.
We don't have our dates set in stone yet but it looks like the last week in February. Trying to coordinate it with a few others. I need to figure it out soon so I can put in for my time off work. We go to the Lake of the Ozarks in the summer. Last weekend we met a boat full of Canadians who tied up next to us all day. In the evening we all met in a bar and found out they go to Temptations. those candadians can be so fun! tons of them at hedo all the times we have gone. and i can't believe how many people on this site are from iowa, never met anyone else from iowa at hedo!
