I tend to write long TRs so this one will be broken down by day. This is day one. Our first trip to Temptations: Let me preface this by saying that we have stayed at The Royal in Cancun twice, and Hedo once. Both adults only but obviously completely different. I would put TTR in the middle of both in most respects. Day one Friday 8/20/10: Since this was last minute we booked a flight with a connection out of BWI. Long story short our flight was at 6 am meaning that we had to be on our way by 2 am. Flew on Delta in the Atlanta. Overall very pleased with Deltas service and our experience with them. Short layover with a 1/2 hour delay had us on the ground in Cancun by 11:45. A HUGE line to get thru customs so while I rounded up our bags Alisa got in line. Of course ours was the last bag off of the last cart. By the time I was n line we were a few turns from the RED/GREEN light. After another green light (10-0 overall!!!) we were past eh time share folks and out to Best-day for our shuttle. They were great and we were on our way with in 10 minutes. With only a few other resorts to stop at, we were at Temptations by 12:45. First impression: When we arrived, there must have been a huge number coming and going this day as the lobby was packed with luggage and people. As a side note this is where I initially thought that we may have made a mistake. We were spoiled with The Royal’s individual floor lobby and personalized check in with a cold rag and drink waiting. That being said we were seen with in a few minutes and told that the room wold not be ready until after 3. We were given our bracelets and headed to lunch The buffet was delicious with many choices of fresh foods. Everything that we tried was very good. We then walked around a bit and tried once more for the room and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes (2:30 ) so we were very pleased. We were told to speak to someone as we waited. We knew it was the time share folks but we listened. As the lady went in for the breakfast invite my wife plainly said that we weren’t interested and that was it. No more pressure or “invites” the remainder of the trip. Our advice is to be firm in your decision and let them know. We were placed in room 2301 which was just off of the lobby over looking Patty Os. A little concerned as some TA reviews stated that the noise and music kept them awake at night. We were very pleased and had no issues with any excess noise. The room was bigger than expected and clean. The bathroom was clean and the shower was huge with adequate pressure from the rain spout shower head. The room was cool but not chilly. I’d prefer a little cooler or a room with a ceiling fan as well. The only other complaint was from my wife with a lack of drawer/closet space which was a common theme on Tip Advisor. Nice view of the sports pool, Margaritas and the sea from the balcony. After quickly unpacking and changing we were off to the sexy pool. Of course there were no chairs near the pool by that time so we made our way to the beach. Napped a bit and then hit the pool. Tied a few of the recommended drinks and all were quite good. Met some great people that day including Trey and Alicia who we spent a lot of time with the first few days. Weren't able were able to exchange info with before they left but told them about CC.com so hopefully they find us. After a few hours and a short siesta we headed to Margaritas for dinner. Were were very impressed with not only the taste and quality of the food, but the presentation as well. I had the enchiladas and Alisa had the ????. The service was fantastic as it was for the remainder of our stay and all of the restaurants. We headed to Patty O before meeting friends out. We stopped at XX for a couple of drinks before heading into Roo. Roo is a great place. One of the new lounge type clubs. Nice sized dance floor with great mix of music. Small “private” couch areas with bottle service if you go with the resort ( I think TTR went Tuesday night when we were here). A pole for the ladies at each spot as well added to the fun. We got to meet up with friends from the states as well as some friends who work at other resorts who just happened to be there. A quick stop at Taco Factory for a late night snack marked the end of a very long but enjoyable first day. END OF DAY ONE: 3:00am (up 24 plus hours- definitely got our moneys worth this day) To be continued....we are just getting warmed up people!!!
