We have noticed a damp smell which we put down to humidity. The up side of this is once you unpack and hang your crumbled clothes the humidy gets rid of the creases!
I have been all over and yes it smells like that pretty much everywhere. Its the humidity....everything is damp and musty.
We had a smell in our sink. My husband put a towel in the sink with a little bit of water. That seemed to help. Thank you for the suggestions of taking plug ins and scented candles. .... we too were never in the room long. We only slept for 4hr a nite. We had no children for 8 nites.... Wooo Hoooo party times!!!
We came back to a horrible smell after dinner. I was already sick with bronchitis, $200 for the hotel Doctor, shot in the butt and some drugs. But that another story. We went to desk to complain, lots of excuse--recent rain storm, cleaning, etc. They sent a maid down to spray some stuff around. Made the smell worse. Went back and complained, finally was able to drag a staff member down to smell the room. He agreed it was vary bad. They sent a guy to bang on the pipes in hall. NO kidding. Back to the front desk got upset, explained I was very sick, hacking up a lung and the smell in the room was aggravating my condition. The night manager went to the room with my wife and came back in 5 minutes. Huddled over the computer and found us another room. We still had a week of vacation left. So they moved us to a jacuzzi room for the rest of the week. We sere so thankful. The room was empty for 4 days with the door and patio open to blow out the smell.
^^^ This. anytime I smell something even remotely like the old Blue Bay rooms, it immediately puts a smile on my face as I remember our trips there.
when I look at pictures people post from Temptations I can almost smell it... hmmm home.... but yes as others suggested we also took candles, the plugin is a great idea
I've always kept the room temp at artic blast and that seems to negate whatever smell from the humidity there might be.
