I find it very sad and depressing that humans have little or no respect for humanity. We get so angry when the someone down the street kills a kid, gang violence, but when it comes to war... regardless of which side your on it seems alright. killing, murder, whether your a soldier or a civilian.. it is wrong. And until humans come to realize that we are on a very slippery slope. I don't care who you are are where your from what your religion or politics, it hurts like hell when somone you love is killed... and for what???
You'll get no argument there. Just know this. There are people in this world that will put their lives on the line to protect yours. They're called Firemen, Police, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Airwomen. Its sad when they are killed like anyone else but they give their lives willingly for a chance to keep loved ones safe.
Even worse I think, are all the innocent lives lost... the "collateral damage" ... who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
America takes a lot of flack for "collateral damage" as Brewster put it.. but so far as I know the US does not deliberately target civilians. The terrorists DO.. then they hide behind human shields in schools, hospitals, churches, and houses full of small children, knowing that the US will be afraid to strike at them there... and this tactic is not limited to the fringe groups.. Iran is believed to have the bulk of it's nuclear, biological, and other weapons facilities built under schools, mosques, and hospitals, to detour their being attacked. This is the sort of adversary we're up against over there...
The point I was trying to make was that it is sad that the world and everyone in it has little or no regard to human lives, all human lives... Would any country need soldiers if there were no wars. If we all had respect for what life really is.. there would be no need. Humans basically have No respect for life and each other.
My point, nobody should have to give their lives to keep loved ones safe. If we all respected life there would be no need. I know I know, its a pipe dream.
I wouldnt worry about it too much. It's already too late. Mohammed is most popular name for baby boys in London - Telegraph Coming to the US soon. [ame=]YouTube - Muslim Demographics
I wonder I wonder if bringing our cultures together if Christians and Jews will be allowed to pray to their God in this building? I also wonder if there is this type of really quite respectful discussion on a sensitive topic going on in ANY Muslim country? Could a church be built anywhere in Saudi Arabia?
They are symbols of western success. Would your opinion on this matter be different if the Canadian targets had been hit?
Civilian deaths are tragic for sure. Do you think the Allies could have won WWII with the kind of reporting we have today? Some of the Pacific battles were terribly costly in lives, thousands and thousands in a single day. Could Ike have risked the lives of so many in Normandy? I think the question that needs to be answered and is a difficult one, is how much responsibility do the citizens have for the particular government they have at a particular time?
