Lynn and Les, Reading all your posts, you seem like great people, with opinions and values much like ours. That being said, I couldn't disagree more with you on this one. On our trip I didn't see anyone put towels on the swings or for that matter the bar stools. When they were empty people used them. When they moved on others got to enjoy them. During our trip, at least 50% of the chairs had towels on them without people. We saw numerous people walk down to pool and leave after having no place to sit. We need more people at the pool not walking away.
Neither side of the debate is mutually exclusive. Most people understand the rules on a "taken" toweled chair. However, those who show up at 1pm or not at all should not have the right to tie one up for hours. ANSWER...... towels that change colors with time! Like the Coors cans and the blue mountains.... if it aint blue you loose! Now to invent the damn things! :huepfen021:
we did the t-shirt on the baack of the chair thing, worked out great! but after the 2nd day said to hell with that cuz we never really used the chairs, we spent all of our time in the water, but our room was right off the sexy pool and was easy enough to go back there for anything that we needed! just left our things on the patio, outside of our room. i recommend room number 3107,ground floor about 40 drunken steps home!
You disagree with saving a chair if you use it? That is what we have said. Along with We save 2/4 chairs for about 10/20 people to use each day. Do you diagree with chair sharing??? Sorry don't see what you disagree with to be honest. Beds around the pool with always be an issue, pretty lame to go on about, swings / stools / resturants blah blah... next it will be - you can't have a room unless you use it for more than 2 hrs a night or someone else can pop in and take it. I agree about the chair sharing and certainly agree that you should not claim at chair at 7 am and not use it until 2 pm. We have been to TRC lots of times and have seen lots of guests come around the pool between noon and 2 pm and move someone that was at lunch's stuff off their chair and take it. We usually spend almost all day at the pool and always take our towels or whatever off the chairs whenever we leave the area for more than just lunch. There are people that abuse or complain about every thing, and I don't think the reserved chair thing works that bad. Something that does get me mad is when someone pulls a chair off the beach and sets it next to the pool and every one has to walk around or over their chair.
didn't mean to offend, just my opinion from what I saw when I was there. It's obvious your opinion is all that matters and your knoweledge of how things should be far outways anyone else's. I've noticed in previous posts you have a hard time with anyone who disagrees with you, so to avoid more childish banter(ie. Dave and Ellie), I will try to keep my opinion to myself if it doesn't agree with yours. Just kind of hypacritical from someone who is supposed to be so open minded.
Guys, your post above is very un-called for. Everyone dissagreed with Dave & Ellie not just us, they contacted many couples on here and pissed them off. Unless you know and understand everyones view on Dave & Ellie please don't comment on it. I (les) have just read lynfa's reply and all she's saying is she can't understand why your opposed to chair sharing. She clearly states we save about 4 chairs for up to 20 people which lets be fair is good odds. Regarding your comments on swings/stools nad resturant chairs, they have nothing to do with this and no one has complained about it. At the end of the day you haven't offended anyone with your view but just as your entitled to have yours, we're entitled to have ours. Just because they are slightly different is no need for you to have a dig as you have in your post. And how has our open mindedness got anything to do with chair sharing? Please don't let this blow out of proportion, if there's something you'd like to say IM us instead of having a dig in public.
I misunderstood. I am not opposed to chair sharing. Actually, I think that is probably the best way to go. My only complaint was seeing chairs that were saved and never used and the fact that some people wouldn't even stay at the pool because they couldn't find a seat. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Enjoy your day and hopefully we can be there at the same time one year and I'll buy you a drink for my rant.
