Would it be cheaper to buy it in the Airport or somewhere actually in Cancun? I want to have some in the room for the length of our stay...

For us it depends how much time you have for the vacation and how much time you want to spend running around looking for the stuff. The cheapest way is to buy it from Wal-mart in Mexico, but we have purchased alcohol at the airport, across the street from the resort or shops as we walked around. The $5.00 you might save might not be worth a 2 hour trip, unless you are going that way anyway.

It is nice to have something in the room when you are having "alone" time or watching channel 12.

Thank you, you're right. Typically are liquor prices on par with the US? For a 750ml (fifth) of tequila here in the US its about $35-40. Just asking because in the places like the Bahamas liquor is cheaper (A liter of Absolut was $10)...

My connecting flight is in houston and I just hit the duty free for some room liquor and cigarettes, better than pay taxes on it.

They don't sell tequila worth drinking at any WalMart around here!!

Life's too short to drink cheap booze.

Our Wal-mart here does not have a liquor department, but we do not live in Mexico either.
