We have been to both Cancun twice and now Cabo so, there’s a lot we want to say, so we are going to try to split up our posts into days, some may run together…here it goes, will try to post pictures too… Day One – Arrived to airport about 3pm, no trouble, and watch out for the vultures after you pass security. They told us they were from Grayline (the company we booked our transfer through); however after a few minutes we noticed that it was the timeshare/trip adventures guys. So we quickly said no thank you and headed outside find Grayline. Waited about 20 minutes with 4 other couples, for our driver and then we were off to the resort. Luckily we were the first stop, about a 20 minutes drive, on a van where apparently the air was not working, very hot. $56 for Two for round trip transfer, apparently a taxi cab is $20 one way-should have done that. Entrance to the resort is very dull and uninviting, was sort of concerned when looking from the outside. A bonus is the Mega (Super Walmart) is right across the street, used it a few times…great price on Red Bull. Lobby was nice, not as grand as Cancun. The front desks sent us over to timeshare crew, we politely said, no thank you and that was it. Room was ready and we headed up…three flights…to Room #342. Room was fine, just like the pictures, however too far away from the action, oh well we put on our suits and headed to the Quiet Pool oh wait, I mean the Pool. Met some great people, had some drinks and headed up to the Jacuzzi pool, amazing view, great bar and great jacuzzi pool. Melissa was really tired plus drank a little too much so we headed up…three flights…to our room for a “rest”, she woke up at 6am the next day. While she was sleeping I went to the front desk and tried to switch rooms, I asked for a first floor room that walked out onto the pool and/or the Mélange Bar, none available that night, they would switch us at noon the next day, fair enough. Ordered room service, $5 charge for delivery, it was good. FIRST VIEW OF CABO WHILE ON THE PLANE LOS CABOS AIRPORT VIEW FROM THE JACUZZI JACUZZI BAR JACUZZI BAR JACUZZI BAR CLASSIC DAY ONE PICTURE VIEW FROM OUR FIRST ROOM #342 to be continued...
okay ron nice start now fill in all the details too looking forward to the whole story - and you know me ron - tons of pics glad you guys are back and safe rob/t
Day Two – Up bright and early, headed to the pool to get some chairs, no problem at all, there are always plenty of chairs and beds available for use. To breakfast at the buffet, nice meal, great omelets and freshly made French toast. This restaurant is at the front of the resort and you can either eat inside or out. Melange Bar during the day, nice couches and chairs to sit in. To the beach for a few photos, the beach is beautiful, however no swimming. We did see one man who appeared to be an expert swimmer, however the undertoe pulled him soooo far down the beach, we never even tried…it’s called fatal for a reason. Beach Volleyball courts Looking up to the Jacuzzi Pool/Bar Headed up to lay out for about 1 hour then into the pool. Best part of the pool is the zero entry and the platform in the middle. They do play games on the zero entry end of the pool, so sorta an advantage during water polo. Staff today is Anthony, Crystal and Angie…all very nice but would be better with a kids resort…no adult energy, very boring. After a few hours of Easy Listening Music, Ron went to the DJ and asked him to play something else because he was falling asleep. Didn’t do much good, only a slight change. After checking several times, our new room was finally ready, thanks to Manuel the Bellboy (he looked all of 12-hard worker-very helpful). Room #120 was the best. Each day they had trivia…today was movie soundtrack trivia…not quite the fun we were looking for. Had some lunch at the buffet right next to the pool…very nice. After watching the staff for awhile we decided to teach our new friends a little game we call the LUGE… After a few rounds of shots we moved up to the Jacuzzi Bar for more fun…no pictures available…sorry. This was a fun afternoon of more Luge and body shots. Back to the room to get ready for lingerie Night, no time for dinner, plus not hungry from all the drinks so Ron just ran to the buffet and grabbed some bread…perfect! Walked out our patio door directly to the Melange Bar, next picture I'm standing on our patio... About 30% of the people were dressed, staff and guests did a Fashion Show and then the music started. Danced for 30 minutes and then headed to the Jacuzzi Bar, by this time everyone had left the Melange Bar and was also headed to the Jacuzzi Bar. We would have like to stay longer at the bar instead of getting all wet again, but we followed the crowd because NO ONE was at the bar. Average night at the Jacuzzi Bar, most people content with sitting in the water and casually talking. Music was VERY mellow, not party music at all. Bar says it closes at 3am, but actually they stop serving at 2:30am and then everyone out of the water at 3am. More pics from Day 2 Wall over looking the Melange Bar and the pool in the foreground. There are steps to the right that lead down to the pool, it's a multiple level resort.
Melissa why is there always a picture of you face down on the bed - pmsl...I see a theme here.... Keep the report coming xxx Lynfa x
Ron's says, that's how he prefers it! LOL It's my 1st night theme for sure...after that I'm good to go...
Day 3 – Headed to the Breakfast buffet, again very good. Got our spots at the pool, we usually put towels down around 9am, no problem getting chairs or a beds. Visited the beach for a little while in the morning, it’s so pretty. Staff included Ceaser today, we had heard he was great…we were not impressed, I guess we are a hard crowd after being entertained by Chinos in the past. More Senior Citizen trivia, plus the exciting game of the day…BINGO. We thought they were kidding when they announced Bingo, I thought they would break out with some sexy, funny twist to the game…but NO! Straight up round cage with balls and Bingo cards…just like the Rec Center, thought I was going to die. Then they did the beer chugging contest...good times. OK this is more like it, did more Luge shots and then played Volleyball. Melissa didn’t actually play volleyball, she was in charge of the shots. Got Alejandro to make 20 shots and when anyone messed up they did a shot, those went quickly…got another round of 20, then Alejandro was sick of making shots so he just made a squirt bottle full of Jungle Juice, this did the trick…Everyone had fun, even those just watching said it was a fun game. Headed up to the Jacuzzi for awhile…added a new shot, thanks to friends we met…the Modified Luge… Plus we did the Butt Beer Bong Chinos taught us this Spring, we thought we would enlighten Cabo on the fun! No pictures of this, forgot to break out the camera…would have been some great pics. Headed back the room to get ready for dinner, we ate a great meal at the Italian restaurant, probably the best meal we had at the resort. Live band at the Melange Bar, they were awesome, the female singer did covers of Janis Joplin and Alicia Keys…amazing. Danced and sung along, more shots, Ceaser at the Melange Bar makes the best Lemon Drops EVER! Stayed and listened to the band for about 45 minutes then up to the jacuzzi…can’t remember the details, nights are running together…
Great trip report and pictures! Thanks for taking the time. Noticed the new privacy overhang at the jacuzzi/bar upstairs...those guys really do a fantastic job with what they have, very cool. About 45 days!
