Does the hotel have a cigar shop that sells decent cigars, or is there a good place to go and buy them nearby?

There is a store in Cancun called La habana habanero or something similar that is supposed to be very good for Cuban Cigars.

They sell them rite there in the gift shop for about 10 bucks a cigar. I
can tell you that it is worth it. The Cohiba habano is excellent. Also they
sell them at the airport in the duty free shop, buy them there and take to
    the resort. Mike

I would agree there are alot of fakes around, I am fairly knowledgable on Cuban cigars as I have been to Cuba 7 times and always pick up a box or 2 or 3 lol. I guess it's no big deal if you just buy singles but be careful buying a full box. At home right now I have:

Romeo and Juliets the small ones
    Cohibas
    Monte Cristos
    Guantanamera

I think thats all the stock I have left. Funny thing is I dont smoke them that often I like to give them as gifts or to celebrate big things.

Got caught......got stripped searched by customs for the next 5 yrs in a row. I was drunk and they asked me if I had anything to declare and I declared I was drunk and was wanting to get going so I could smoke my Cuban's with my buddies at home. It wasn't my brightest moment.
