The thing that set the beach apart was it was the only beach we went to. :icon_biggrin: With the exception of the beaches on Isla Mujeres. That balcony in the picture is 30-40ft above the water level, so you can just stand up there and look at the beach for miles, but the color of the ocean and the typical beach waves are what set it apart from Isla Mujeres, and definately Temptations, in my opinion. We didnt stay long, took bus ride, got off, took a couple of pictures, then hopped back on the bus to catch our flight.
Even a small beach will be wonderful...if you want to see..err smell a nasty beach, come up to Salt Lake City and hang out by the great salt lake! UGH!
The beach is a bit disapointing but the entertainment and the resort can't be beat! After the first day at the resort, we didn't notice the beach. Isla does have the best views and makes a great day trip with just a ferri ride and a golf cart rental.
We chose TTR for the resort itself: no kids, all-inclusive, sexually liberated and free-thinking, like-minded adults, good food as reported by many reviews on trip advisor. We LOVE the beach, but on this particular vacation, I'm sure we will spend most of our time at the sexy pool and not on the beach.
hello afrazier5's. happy utah here. The great salt lake does indeed smell bad when its stormy but, its still really cool with all the islands and stuff. Plus we really have alot of fantastic lakes, with very nice beach areas. Utah rocks for water sports. I love the beaches in cancun also. Temptation beach is good enough for playing around, walking and just looking at, the sunrise, and sunsets.
Must agree with others the beach at TTR is somewhat lacking. On our last trip in February we stayed at TTR 4 nights and then went to Sun Palace for 4 nights. Although the beach and view at Sun Palace was fantastic, we were wishing we were back at TTR the whole time. So when we go back to Cancun in July were staying at TTR for the whole week. So much more fun!!!
Umm... just a couple things, Temptation is on the BEACH side, not the Bay side of Cancun, it just happens to face North so the tide is MMMMELOW. If you want to do any body surfing (which we have done) there is an amazing beach at KM 17.5 that is a 9 peso ride away from the resort. Our first time we were a little nervous, but the worst thing we've ever seen on the bus was a mariachi band playing in the aisle for tips. If you want a REAL adventure sit in the back bench seat in the bus and when the driver hits the bumps, you go airborne. It's true the ocean at the resort is not what you would expect, but honestly, you'll spend so much time at the sexy pool that you won't notice. The beach has multiple lounge chairs under and around a bunch of Tiki huts for shade, the first 40-50 feet of water is pretty clear, but it can be kinda cloudy further out. All in all, it's a great place to go, and more active or beautiful beaches and ocean spots are only a bus ride away.
When I read this it made me laugh, we ride the bus everytime we go, try standing and holding on the to rail... now thats a ride.. I giggle everytime.. thats an adventure in its self.
Beach The beach on the north part of the hotel section has calmer waves. We took a trip to the "View" the best public beach halfway down the 7 towards the airport, via the bus. The water is turquoise and waves are amazing, but I can't imagine taking a sail boat or kayak out here as the waves are strong! The free Hobie Sailing at TTR was great. Even a wave runner out there would be a blast but high risk on the east side of the 7. They rent them near TTR as well. You also can do a bit of snorkeling on the north side since the water is calm. Some sites have said you can't walk very far from TTR on the beach and that is wrong. All beaches are public and you can get a nice walk in along the beach here. Never smelled gas from the Marina. The marina actually provided entertainment watching the boats and drunk passengers come and go!
