We'd love it to change to a Desire but we really wouldn't want singles allowed

    Coke,
The occupancy rates have really climbed since the beginning of the year. They are now averaging between 50 & 60%. I just think with Hedo 3 "closing", it could give Desire an "in" into that niche....adults only, clothing optional, lifestyle friendly, that allows singles.....Not that it is what we would prefer, I just think it would help with occupancy rates and and give people on the west coast and option instead of Desire RM or Hedo....then they could have "Desire" weeks without singles....Just a thought. I know I would support a change back into a "desire" type of experience.

According to the numbers I looked at when I was in Cancun last week the Cabo Temptation location rolling average is around 30% - about the same as when it was Desire.

Believe me I want to see more c/o destinations not less !!

For those from the Hedo camp, many like the division of nude or prude and the greatest attraction for those on the nude side is the beach area and calm waters of Negril - the Cabo location will never attract customers that are looking for a beach experience - the water is too cold, too rough and you can't even be topless on the Cabo beaches.....

I do hope they come up with some new formula that can be a financial sustainable success - I think it would have to be more of a Temptations + than a Desire lite however.

I vote for bringing Desire back!!! WITH SINGLES!! Not sure what people have against singles. They are usually a blast and no more intrusive then the occassional obnoxious married guy. And besides, then I can go there when I don't have a date.

When Desire was about to close, almost all of us regulars swore off against ever returning (not us)... but that's a bit extreme too. Having to put on a bottom is not the end of the world. It seems like all the good-looking-fun-loving-California-crowd disappeared when it changed to Temptations.

However, it's Mexico, and although the service is great there, I've never gotten the idea in any Mexican resort than management/ownership really gives a crap about what the people want. Then again, you can't please all of the people all the time anyway.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Temptation Cancun for this weekend however - haven't been there in a year!

We went to Temptation Cancun 2 weekends ago and talked to Chinos about this. He confirmed that yes, they/management are "thinking about it" but it could go either way. Keeping my fingers crossed!

    Thanks for the update, F&M.

We're getting ready to book a Cabo Desire week trip for Sept. Hopefully if there is a lot of interest and attendance that week the management will bust that move...

Maybe a Desire down in the Fla keys would work. Liberal minds, nice beaches, maybe not quite as sunny as Cancun but still plenty of sun. Wish I had a couple of mil, I'd open it.

We have been to TTR cancun once. We are going to Cabo on October 29th to Nov 5th, 2010.

I think the flight prices are too high for a lot of people coming from the east coast like us. From BWI it is $1,200 about for a couple. We found a deal out of regan for $800. We paid $400 for us to goto cacun in April 2010.

We both loved TTR cancun, and we hope cabo is even better.

We got ridiculously cheap flights from Albany, NY last summer to Cabo for only $280 plus taxes, fees, etc. We booked our August trip sometime last May I think. I have no idea why the prices were so cheap, especially out of Albany, considering Albany is not a major hub for airlines. So I think cheap flights are certainly possible. We looked at prices to Cabo again this summer and they were only around $400 on sites such as travelocity.com.

Anyway, not much to do with the original thread I suppose, but TTR Cabo was definitely a nice trip. Never tried Hedo or Desire so I can't say much, but TTR Cabo is definitely very mild and tame. We're about to go to TTR Cancun, and from what I hear, TTR Cancun is more of a party place than TTR Cabo.
