ok... it's been over a week and I'm sorry I did do this sooner but as it always happens I leave work for a week and come back to a mess *L* Let me start off by saying this was our 4th trip and still have a blast every time we go. We flew out of Toronto about 10:30 AM which was weird for us since we're used to getting out on the first flight at O-dark 30 *L* We flew in with Fire & Taz and Pariscouple... great people.... funny as hell... Pariscouple is a little SHY though *LOL*. *note* for the Canadians here..West Jet allows up to 50lbs for your luggage and 2 carryon per person. The flight was uneventful but we did get delayed getting off the plane because we were about 16 inches short of the tunnel being able to connect *L*.. so 20 minutes later we were moved forward. 1st thing.... Cancun in June is hot... I mean HOT... what I really mean is FRAKIN HOT! We're used to the Oct temps and humidity.... June is a completely different heat. *L* We got out got our luggage and hit the red light at customs... we were due.. 1 in 4 times being searched isn't bad. Actually that reminds me... I almost got freakin strip searched leaving Toronto. Somehow the guy was detecting metal on my bare arms and legs. While I was being thoroughly searched Dave considered throwing over so lube *L*.. but we all agreed that airport security guards have no sense of humour. Anyway.. back to Cancun. We got picked up by USA Transfers (Brant) and were at Temptations within 20 minutes. It's well worth it, especially when you're traveling with a group. Reception at TR did a great job of trying to keep us together too. We ended up all being just one room apart right near the sexy pool. 2110, 2112 and 2114. Great rooms but if you're a light sleeper don't bother because they're right near Patios. We got into our room changed and were out to the pool as soon as I could and immediately ran into M-n-K and the drinks started flowing. I'm pretty sure we also met Kathy, Will & Ana and Ikenbeans around the pool that day. More great people to party with . The rest of the day went by so fast. The next thing I knew it was around midnight and John kept saying "only 12 more then I'm going to bed"... problem was he never started counting *L* I turned in at one point in a drunken has.. Nat had already been asleep for a while. *L*.. This where the days start to mix together so I'm sorry if I get things wrong. I do remember that I discovered that I had 2nd degree burns on my back that morning (after half a day). That damn June sun. So we ended up going to our annual Walmart and Market 28 trip. Side note... keeping a group of people together at Market 28 is like herding cats.*L* I think that night was School Girl night... the women all looked great.. damn.... funny thing though.. we were leaving the buffet and of course the guys are all giving approving looks but a few women gave dirty looks..... Seriously? At Temptations??? *L*.... if you're a jealous person .... DON'T go to Temptations. The rest of the night was fun and booze *L* Tues was just a fun filled day trying to stay in the pool and hide in the shade. At one point the sexy pool bar closed so someone came up with the bright idea that the quiet pool bar was still open and we could make it the new sexy pool.*L*. What a great idea that was. *L*.. more drinks and my favourite pair of Oakleys are never to be seen again. Whoever has them please take good care of them... I had them for over 10 years.. ~insert tear here~ Wed we went into town again to drop off school supplies and baby clothes that we brought for the kids charity. We ate at a little place near Coco Bongo... I noticed something for the first time .. When they brought the chips out with sauces, they pointed out the mild, medium and spicy. No one in Cancun ever says hot.. they call it spicy.. *L*.... I hate to tell you but the medium was freakin hot... the "spicy" could have taken the paint off my car. But the food was great.. That night was Glow night.... now that was a great success. Everyone that brought stuff down brought extra so we went around patios handing out glow sticks. There were only a couple of people who seemed alergic to fun *L*... the rest of the place happily joined in. Remember the heat.. it was like 30 C at night.. we end up moving the party over to Nice Shoes which was dead before we got there. *L*.. next thing you know there 40 - 50 people in the place and it's jumpin. Mike says to me.... get in the cage... so I got in the cage.... I remember shimming up to the top and hanging upside down for a bit.. *L* In retrospect we should have done glow night first... we met a whole bunch of people that way. I'd suggest that if you really want to have a good time and plan your own events.. try to figure out stuff that you can get other people involved in too. If I'm remembering right... Thursday night was lingerie night...... I have never seen so many women get involved... well done ladies. But the funniest thing I've ever seen was that a guy... I won't say who... came about as close as you're going to get to winning the lingerie contest. *L* If it hadn't been for the professional poll dancer and their group of 40 people he would have won hands down. I never laughed so hard in my life. Friday was the booze cruse.. the only excursion we had planned... After actually hitting the bridge in 2007 we were ready *L*... smooth sailing and a good night... the only rain we got for the week was just as we were getting off the boat to the vans. 5 minutes of a tropical downpour not even enough to keep things wet for an hour *L* Carlos and Charlies was great, good food, good service and the employees try to put on a good show too. We left early and headed back to Patty O's, more drinks.. more fun.. Saturday, our last full day... Nat and I are peeling like hell and slathering on the SPF 45 like no tomorrow *L*... NTVB... really funny.... I posed for almost 2 minutes beside the trees for screwing up too many times. *L* Another side note.... If someone asks you to turn off your camera do it..simple as that.... When Chinos then tells you to turn off your @$# camera you had better listen. Anyway.. we beat Christian's team bad so it was a roll in the sand for them and the usual. I just realized I haven't mentioned Steph once.... she's the little blond on the staff from Toronto... great girl... for having been there only 3 weeks she was doing a great job and getting to know the guests well. We only saw the girl from England twice before she went home on holiday so no opinion there. Sunday we were checked out and ready for home. The USA Transfers driver was there early and off we went. Another bonus of taking the private cars is we got to the airport before the buses filled with people from our flight.. *L*.. by the time we got our boarding passes the lineup was huge. Anyway... we had an awesome time and it was 50% from the stellar staff at TR and 50% from the great people we got to party with down there. Thanks for the fun to Dave & Laura, Kathy, John & Heather, Mike & Kasie, Mike & Kim, Will & Ana and I know I'm missing someone and I'm really really sorry. Can't wait till next time. Terrific TR! We just got home from TTR a few hours ago, and are exhausted, but will try to get one up tomorrow...I will say I noticed the "dirty looks" from some of the ladies too...there was a very young crowd there this week, mainly cpls and singles in their 20's and 30's...on our "glitter" night, a few of our ladies had VERY revealing and skimpy getups on..and were met with quite few glares and snickering....hmmm not sure what that's about...on the other hand, my BF wore a crazy and very bare outfit for glitter night (tiny gold trunks, and covered in gold glitter and pixie dust from head to toe) and had all the girls asking to take a picture with him, lol..
me too!!!! but damn he was impressive... and a crowd-pleaser as well. So glad Joyce picked him for the final 3! Now I'm wondering if he has been the only guy to win?????????
