It is really rare that a resort will evacuate you during a hurricane. Normally they have you move to an interior part of the resort and just wait it out. Even with a direct hit most resorts are operational within a day or so. It is kind of sad, but the employees are expected to take care of the visitors/resorts before their own homes. We have been to Cancun 4 Septembers in a roll, never a problem (close however) and I still believe it is the best time to go. Cal
