So I've read on various forums (mostly on tripadvisor) that the beach at the resort is not so great. Most people complained of it being too small, too many boats, and smelly of "fumes". Can anyone verify this and also recommend any other nice beaches within walking distance of the resort?
Yeah we were concerned about this too...the beach at Temptation isn't the greatest but its OK...it is between two marinas and there is quite a bit of seaweed. There is plenty of room and soft white sand if you go to the "quiet" side. If you want beautiful beaches, make the trip over to Isla Mujeres for the day. You can catch the ferry just down the beach for $15pp and then rent a golf cart for the day on the island for $45. We found this better and cheaper then the tours from Temptation. Plus, you can go at your pace and not with a herd of drunks...unless your into that of course!
The beach looks better than ever. The pumped in sand and made it wider. It just doesn't have waves because it's on the bayside. They keep it clean but there is seaweed that washes up.
Overall we really liked the resort(fun people, good restaurants,etc.) but thought the beach (actually the beach water) was disappointing... Lots of sea weed and the water appeared kind of dirty. But we had read the reviews and didn't go there expecting much of a beach.
