Yes, please dont mix England up with the Scots and Welsh (ranked 46th and 76th respectively) Bad mistake by our keeper and not a very convincing performance by England, well played the US. Our most difficult group game is out of the way now.
I have to say i was very impressed by USA. The England team just didn't shine for me but i have to admit that Heskey played far better than i imagined. I am still not convinced England will do well in this tournament so until i see a sparkling performance i think i will hold my tongue from now on lol .
Here's my 2 cents - You knew USA would get up for England...hope they don't let down now because they never do well vs Eastern European squads. They need to replace Ricardo Clark (goal was his fault) and put in someone with offensive creativity.
one of the main reasons I stressed our nationality is that when england are doing well in europe at either club level, international level or even when the england fans are well behaved the english commentators brag about england this and england that. now when they misbehave which is regular or the clubs or international teams play badly the english commentators and even the news broadcasts all of a sudden refer them as british try to bring alll the other home counties in to the equation as if ramming 1966 down our throats is not enough they also have to be bullish and bias, I pity that poor goalie who was very green lol letting that ball through his hands the english press are now trying to destroy his career for goodness sake it is only a footie game. another small pointer is when scottish golfers, tennis players even racing drivers are winning big competitions they become british but if the shoe is on the other foot eg english then they stay english not british ha ha know you know where I am coming from
I (les) am staying out of this because as a child I was taught to support anybody who's playing against England. As Steve so kindly pointed out Wales are way behind England in the ranking because we are for want of a better word CRAP! It's a nightmare living in the UK when England play in any tournament because it's in the papers and on TV for months before saying how good they are and how they are going to win etc............. then every tournament they get knocked out an it's funny as hell. I think the English team are very good but I hate the English press because they are full of shit and put way too much pressure on the team. COME ON ALGERIA AND SLOVENIA
