I changed the title as per the OP suggested. I dont think the thread harms Cancun's reputation, it's about LA. I think it's clearer now with the title change but it may well have been misunderstood before. As for removing threads, well unless they are downright offensive or have a definite agenda to them then I tend to let things go. If I start deleting threads that may harm Cancun's reputation then the boards credibility as an accurate source of unbiased and informed comment disappears with it. And of course it can't be a list of Americans murdered in Cancun because (other than the film producers wife allegedly killed by her own US husband) there havent been any in the almost 6 years I've lived there, to the best of my knowledge.
Steve: Even though you changed the title, what does this original post have to do with Cancun? It really is of no relavance. That is another reason it should be removed or placed somewhere else in the forum. And the main reason people will panic about such a post is because of the recent problems outside of Cancun and the timing of such a post is really not a good idea.
murder in the cancun chippies a fish got battered well one thing for sure is that I will be going back to cancun rather than have a trip to la. so no panic here rather the opposite. the writer of the thread is only stating an opinion of life in general and does say he finds cancun safer than la. I really dont see any reason to bin the thread it is creating publicity here on the forum and if anyone has been intimidated by the thread than they are living on a different planet to me as steve says it is an unbiased and unnofensive piece of information. oh!!!! and cmon the usa get stuck in to those sassenachs at the weekend ha ha ha do a scotsman a big favour.
Clicked on the link and was taken to "The Homicide Report". Now that's an attention grabbing heading! Lol. Reminds me of when we lived in San Antonio and used to peruse the newspaper to see where cars were stolen to see if any was around our apartment complex. Of course none were stolen from our complex because we had five SAPD officers that lived in it. As for this thread, the change of title worked. I understood what they meant.
