Yes so did I! So I am only saying what I was told.....I know you are a little partial to cancun because you live there but dont be rude to us people who are just worried and want to be safe. Thats rude in itself to not try to understand where we are coming from. I am not going to let that ruin my vacation but i just wanted everyone that cares to know. Sorry if it upset you. Well it seems the person you spoke to did not research their claim, which is pretty poor considering they work there. Next time you speak to the switchboard girl tell her her advice directly contradicts the official website statement put out on May 6th.
some people are just alarmist by nature, personally i would just use common sense- stay in the tourist areas and take the advice of poeple just returning and of course any information from steve.

i guess the next thing they'll tell you is to get yourself some protection while crossing ......just to be safe i'm bringing ........2 boxes of condoms !!!
Steve is a totally reliable, family man, you can trust what he says. Further, there are people like me and others who live here, as well. Nothing has changed. Would you be safer staying home? Hard to imagine that you would. We're out all over the city, everyday, going about our lives- working, shopping, visiting entertainment venues, friends, and the beaches; and, yes, sleeping well at night. Relax and enjoy your trip. If you can't, no amount of reassurance from others is going to get it done for you....
I think a common sense approach is best. Don't go anywhere alone take care of each other and have fun!!! The one thing that impressed me about the Hotel Zone was the large amount of Police and even Army in that area! I work as a copper in the UK and would not want to wander around some of the town centres I patrol when off duty! I was and still am happy to walk around Cancun night and day! I think everyone should just let this go now. Hope to see you all by the Pool this coming Sunday !
Heck people.....I only know what the SD people said..........apparently there were multiple executions 10 mins or miles south of Cancun within the last few days. I hadn't seen that on the news. I am sure if it isn't corrrect Steve will let us know. All I said is what we were told! In the mayan Riviera area?????
In the past week there have been 3 shootings and a stabbing in our town. All people of Cancun are warned not to vacation here. :wink3:
