Where are some good places to meet other expats outside the hotel zone in the centro area?

Padrino's, on Av Tulum, just above Av Coba, and La Taberna, on Yaxchilan, are both places where you can find some expats hanging out. Some of those you could meet have been here for more than a decade, some two or more.

T.J. can occasionally be found at Padrino's on the WEs; and, Fridays, at La Taberna, Scott can almost always be found after 8 PM: both enjoy making themselves available to new people, and filling them in on life in Cancun.

Sorry to announce that El Padrinos has closed.

And the other place is La Taberna on Yaxchilan. The Friday part is the night that you can always find ex-pats there.

    Ex Pats Series!

Hi everyone! I am a Casting Director currently working on a new series appropriately titled, "Ex Pats", for the Reserve channel on YouTube.

Our company, DiGa Vision, and our promotional partner, Travel & Leisure, could not be more excited about the stories we are sharing. We will be airing 12 episodes in total, one per month. Our first three episodes are already live and have received a great response! (over 40,000 views and counting!)

Feel free to check them out here
    EX-PATS - YouTube

We heard that there is a tremendous Ex Pat representation in Cancun/Riviera Maya, and we'd love to represent at least one story from your area.

If you are interested please email melissa dot rothschild at digallc dot com

I look forward to hearing from you!
    Melissa
