MAY 2011 Looking Expensive From The UK But We'll Be There

I always book as soon as flights come out for the following year. I paid $1000.00 for flights and 5 nights for 2 people from Boston to Cancun this year and booked it last June!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I agree with you regarding thomson, however the reason they are approximately £300 more expensive is because with thomson you automatically get 33" seat pitch as standard instead of 29", 5kg extra baggage allowance, leather comfy seats and seat back tv monitor and games with "playstation" type control as standard! if you try to upgrade on thomas cook to try and get the benefits of thomson..... surprise surprise it costs about £300 each extra . So i guess the choice is pay more but arrived more relaxed and less cramped or pay less (like us) and arrive crunched up and sore after being cooped up like a battery hen for 10 hrs lol. We travelled with thomson to mexico last time and it was bliss compared to what we have to come in January. You shouldnt have to make a choice based on comfort for a long haul flight, its shocking!
We paid £1,076 each for two weeks from jan 3rd to 17th with thomas cook. Thomson would have cost us £1,380 each for the same holiday. You can't normally book last minute from the uk as places go very quickly. If you want to gamble on it then its a risk. Just my opinion :icon_wink:

 

We flew with Thomson in April and only got 15kilo allowance, had to pay extra to make it up to 20 kilo. We've flown with Monarch, first Choice and Airtours and all the aircraft were the same. I wasn't inpressed with Thomsons service to be honest and they cancelled the premier seats going out without telling anyone plus they made us land in Manchester on the way out to change crew which added a total of 3hrs onto our flight.
Like you said gambling on a late booking is impossible for April/May because they are always sold out so we always book early.
I'm happy with the £1060 each price I got for May 1st as I thought they would have pitched it a lot highter to try and claw back the money they lost this year with the ash cloud. Hope you have a great time in Jan xxx
