Didn't say that being by ourselves would be torture - said the last 5 nights would be torture in the 2nd post and just said in the 1st that we didn't want to be stuck in a quiet resort.

After being with such a large and fun group, it's just a bit of a come down when everyone goes. Yes we talked and hung out with loads of other people when our friends left, it was just a "different" group that's all.

Hey Rob, we would love to go!! Susie was talking about going to Cabo for something different; we'd have a blast with all you guys!! Plus, my birthday is on April 28...

 

my sons birthday was the 28th of april

we were wanting to do a longer trip this time as last time was just too short and we want to be able to enjoy some time with the people we meet instead of just "hey glad to meet you" bs

My oldest friend Trey is seriously considering coming also. I"ve known him for 20 something years. He will be bringing whatever flavor of the month he is with at the time. We are also thinking that Jessica's twin sister Tammara will probably be joining also. Im sure T Ken will be coming also right?

 

Don't think we will be up for it either. Flights are double the price and double the time to get there from Boston than Cancun. The dates are during April vacation for school here, which makes it tough for us too. We only paid $240.00 a flight to Cancun I looked at March 2011 it was over $600!

 

i think t.ken is like a lot of people with this decision

they have some fears that it might a drop off from TTR cancun and to be 100 percent honest, i think that is a legitimate concern. especially for those of us whom have had such a great time there for so many years

why fix something that aint broken?

i get it - sounds like an argument i would make lol

i explained to t.ken that we would certainly miss him if he decides not to make it but that i also needed for him to allow us to make this decision and not make us feel too bad for not going to cancun this one time. it is certianly nothing personal and i have nothing but good things to say about those wanting to go to cancun------------ its a great resort

for me and t it is

(a) more about the fact that we have honestly wanted to go to cabo for quite some time (in fact, before our first trip to cancun and bbg we were going to go to riu cabo san lucas) yet we always seem to wait and then get caught up in the "everyones going to cancun bandwagon" and we end up going there every year with all our friends instead of going to cabo so we figured we would just try and "blaze a trail" here lol

(b) ive heard numerous people say that it would be really nice to try some place different..............at least one time

(c) risk - trying new things - im a risk taker - always have been - have about four business failures to prove it lol

(d) "the nursing home approach" i always tell our kids "live your life and make your decisions based upon the reality that one day you are more than likely going to have reflect on your decisions from a nursing home stand point"

in other words....

you dont want to have your ass stuck in the nursing home pissing and moaning about what you did and did not do

you guys know me i could go on and on but i will say that it really does not matter where we go or what we do

we always have a great time

i know i say this in a very casual manner but its the damn truth.

my friend white troy told me last summer "rob why the hell would i want to spend 2000 dollars to go to cancun when we have more fun in our back yards every weekend than all those people at the resort put together"

white troy makes a good point - its always about the people -

so

the reality is we are going to have a blast wherever we are.

a few years back when chinos was not working in cancun everyone on cancuncare went into a severe depression and i caught a ton of flack from a lot of people when i made the "its about the people you are with and not the entertainment staff" line

dont get me wrong i love chinos and i love the sexy pool and i love patty o's and the booze cruises but if i have to have those to have fun

...............something is wrong with me and i need to do some soul searching

its also a damn shame that over the last two years we have not been able to spend more time with you two

its one of the reasons this coming year that we are doing a 9 to 10 night trip so we can have more time with the people we know and love and the people we want to get to know more

t and i are so tired of the 3-4 night trips twice a year - just figure one long one would be better
