Haha TJ, don't get me started on sound-alikes here! ;-) They're not the aardvarks I know from Canada, though I just read that they can be called Brazilian aardvarks. Do a google image search for the "coatimundi" and "aardvark" and you see two different animals.
Coati is correct, I think. Tejones are actually badgers, a different animal. But in Mexico ppl call Coatis Tejones. Coati - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
RG, That is what someone essentially told me a few years ago but I Googled and the photos are identical. Seemed that what I read was that the ones with the tails are the males, or maybe the other way around. But whichever is the opposite sex, they do look like badgers. I have never seen a badger except in photos. I don't think we have them in the south. What is it, Wisconsin, The Badger State?
