    Hi

Sorry in advance for the long post.

I just joined this site and searched the threads a little. I intend on coming the 1st week of December 2010 (12/4-12/11). I have been researching places to stay.

My group will most likely be 4-6 singles in their mid 30s (mostly guys).

We are looking for the best place to stay that is right for us. Our standards may be high since we have been on a couple of singles cruises and enjoyed Carnival's amenities plus have been to an all inclusive in Punta Cana.

    The hotels we are considering:
Temnptations, RIU Cancun, RIU Caribe, ME Cancun, Gran Caribe Real Resort & Spa , and a few others. Dreams is on the list but they are a little more expensive. Oasis is not on the list because based on reviews they don't have the amenities we are looking for and seems more to be catering to the under 25 crowd (specifically those under 21 from the US). I saw on this board that although Temptations is fun that it can be a sausage fest of single guys to single girls.

Some things of importance to us are (not in any particular order):
    1- All inclusive
    2- decent hotel rooms
3- a decent hotel gym (cardio equipment, free weights, and area for stretching)
    4- nice restaurants
5- availability of other singles and people between 25-45
    6- friendly hotel staff
7- activities by the pool during the day (if we choose to participate)
8- low pressure for timeshares and other things outside of the all inclusive
    9- less kids
    10- decent price

Also, do any of the clubs have beaches for the day time? In Cozumel I have been to both Carlos and Charlies and Senor Frogs for beach parties.

From your list I would say Riu Cancun....has all the above and is walking distance to the Party Zone!

I think RIU Cancun sounds like your best bet...nice hotel, great location, all inclusive, pool side activities, a lot of singles and seemed to have a great party vibe for 20's thru 40's going on when we stayed there. Not sure about the amount of kids you will get the 2nd week of December though..

thanks for the responses. And thanks for confirming the Riu Cancun as a good choice. A travel agent told me this morning that there may be a singles trip to Cancun around the time we are looking so we will be hoping that works out.

I did not intend to be against Temptations as it is a really nice place and see a lot of people had a great time there but for 4-6 single men, some who are not social and some who are very big body-wise it may not be the right environment for us.

Thats OK, I love Temptations but its not for every person and every situation, you have to go with whats going to be best and most fun for your group. Have a terrific trip!

I like Palace Resorts, particularly the Cancun Palace. I have been going there for many years. Our adult children have accompanied us and they always have a good time. There is always activity going on at the pool. The 2 swim up bars are great. The gym is decent. The restaurants are amazing (especially Mikayo - hibachi and the sushi bar. There is a swing bar on the beach. the rooms are modern and the beds are comfy. The activity team gets groups together to go out clubbing VIP style. It is right on the bus route so you can travel cheaply by yourselves - 65 cents per ride - to clubs, flea markets, etc. Some tours are included. Best of all you can use your all-inclusive at the other Palace Resorts. The Beach Palace if further up the strip and has a rooftop pool & bar as well as a lively sports bar. Check it out.
