posting here because it will not let me post in the cancun tours section for some reason. What tours do you all recommend for me and my dad to go on. We both like adventure type tours (zipline, 4x4 etc.) My dad wants to do the chitzen tour but I don't know because it sounds like it takes 3 hours to get there, so thats like 6 hours of riding in a bus looking out the window :bash: thats for the advice.
I did the Chichen Itza tour, and can't wait til the next person to come and wants to do it. It is soooo worth the time. And going to we made two stops. One at a cenote and another at a "Mayan Mall", where they have great things to buy and also lunch was supplied. The tour guides also talk and give great information on the Mayans. So it makes the time go quick. On the way back, you are so exhausted, mostly everyone was asleep shortly into the ride back....and you are back to your hotel no later then 8pm. If you don't do it, you are missing one of the best tours in the Riviera Maya.
I loved Chichen Itza, as Tori said the tours usually include a stop at a fantastic cenote. If Chichen is too far, you can do a combo tour of the Tulum ruins (gorgeous) and the eco-park XelHa. STeve has the Tulum/Xelha tour here... Tulum Tours - Tours to Tulum
Chitzen Itza was aweful in my opinion. It takes so long on a hot bus to get there and once you're there, its even hotter and not too much to do or see. The 4 wheelers are a blast!!!!! My husband and I did that tour amd it was a great day. You ride the 4 wheelers through the jungle then right down the beach. THen you stop and have some Coronas (only in Mexico ) before you head back. It was great fun!!!!!
HUH??? Hot bus? Mine was a luxury bus that had ac and I wish I had a sweatshit so I wasn't freezing on the way back...and not alot to see or go??? Are you sure you were there and not someplace else? Our guided tour was 2 hrs and we still didn't see it all. My Dad can't wait to go back and finish it out.
now this sounds more like my kind of tour so maybe I can talk him into doing this and then possibly we can do another Mayan tour that doesn't require a lot of traveling (any suggestions)
chris&tata can you send me a link to the 4wheeler tour you did that was so great. I am in tour search mode now making sure I book the right ones so if you can find a link that would be great. I think I have talked my Dad out of doing the Chitzen tour because of the long hours of travel so now I need to find a better replacement.
Not sure if it's the same tour mentioned above, but there is an ATV tour out of Puerto Morelos (transport included) that I've done a few times and is fun. Here's the link: Cancun ATV and Cenote Tour. Also we have pretty much every tour covered on the main website via this section: Cancun Tours: Information on Tours in Cancun.
