Since we have returned from Cancun at the end of February, we have been receiving a lot of 4 night vacation offers from different places there. These are all around $200USD PP. You have to arrange your own travel to Cancun and the hotel, but this is still a lot cheaper. Has any one, or does anyone know of someone that has taken advantage of any offers like this? Just curious as we were thinking of trying to take advantage of some of them.

You have to arrange your own travel and the hotel? What is the $200 pp for?

Offers like these are invariably timeshare related - spend a day at a high pressure sales presentation and if you dont buy a package get treated like crap the rest of your stay.

One for the brave I think.

But not ALL Timeshare places treat you that bad after you say no. I have done a few, and never see the ppl I had the presentation with the rest of the trip...and in the end I have gone to Chichen Itza, Xel-Ha, and Tulum...for free. I say do it, if you only have to pay for your airfair. And prepare yourself for a presentation and practice your firm NO, we are not interested.

Sorry Steve, the hotel is included for the 200, but you have to arrange your transportation to and from the hotel from the airport. They say that you have to attend a 90 minute presentation one of the days you are there. This is at one of the nicer (i think, not sure) AI's, I wont say which here not sure that it would even matter, but I think we could handle that for 4 free nights back in Cancun lol.

I am betting that you are getting these via fax or spam e mail. There are all scams unless they come from the Westin, Sheraton, Hilton, Hyatt, Wyndham, Marriott chains.

I havent recieved any free stay offers just those for $399 dollars for a weeks stay at various all inclusive resorts per couple and you provide your own airfare. I would be interested in a free stay just to waste 3 hours from one day to tell 12 people no i am not interested. ebay has a few of these offers as well.

I just got back from Cancun. I found a "deal" on Ebay. 3 nights, 4 days at the Westin Hotel \ Regina Vacation Club. The total cost = $89.00 ($30 per night) with the understanding that we have to sit through a 90 minute presentation (one way transportation from the airport is included too). Arrived on Sunday at 2pm. Our room was in the Westin Hotel part of the complex (nice room, beachfront view). At 3pm, we got a call that informed us that we had to go to the vacation club presentation on Monday at 8am. We went, had breakfast, had our ear talked off about the advantages of a vacation club, said no, were past on to another sales rep, said no, pased off to a 4th person, said no, passed off to a 5th person that offered us a free tour of another property, said no and we were on our way (total time = 3 hours). Although the sales pitch is very tempting, we were able to get out of there without purchasing anything they had to offer ($31,000 for membership is too much for me). We were free for the rest of our stay. No one treated us poorly for the remainder of the vacation and we were even given 20% discount in any of the hotels restaurants, bars, spa that we went to. If you can say no and be firm, it is a great way to travel inexpensively.

Going to Westin, Hyatt, Hilton or Marriott is very different then most other time share resorts. They treat you fairly, do not pressure you other then the offer after offer and a simple no is all it takes to move on to other sales people before you are out the door. Their offers are the best and usually thse are not available via FAX or Ebay(but E bay does happen once in a while). These high quality hotel chains contact people in their frequent stay programs and offer such good deals.

If you do not get one of these offers from one of these chains you will be hounded by Royal, Palace and other sales people who do not accept the word no as an answer.

That is how we are going to Temptation for 8 days....by an offer for their time share....we figure $600 for 8 days, all inclusive, ocean view, is worth 90 minutes of our time. We also know other people that have done this too. Just say no to the time share....or what we plan on doing is saying that we do not buy into time shares until we have visited the resort at least 3 times....just in case they do turn out jerky...they will have incentive not to if they think you are coming back again.....have fun. Saving over $1000 is definately worth it. We will be doing it again at a different resort next year.
