Why not live here? I was in a long distance relationship for too long, so in order for it to last, one of us need to make the sacrafice...and since US Immigration SUCKS ASS, I am here!!!!!
You are going to have the best vacation ever! I stay in the Hotel Zone everytime I go and "stuck" is not a word I would use to describe your situation..lol. I have made new friends everytime I go to Cancun and I usually end up hanging with these people for my whole stay. I remain friends with them when I get home as well....something about being on vacation that makes people even more friendly... I have never felt unsafe in Cancun..I walk the beach alone every morning at 7am and I feel safe. I took my son last year..no problems...no worries
I am also late 20s (28) coming from the UK and on my own so would love to meet up! Im there from 11 june until 26th so will cross over with your holiday - just! fancy meeting up? PS I take it youre female?
Im not, Im staying with a rep I met whilst out there last year in riveria maya. He works during the day so considering buying a day pass to one of the hotels some a couple of days. How about you?
I've heard from here it's a party hotel so I'll take your word for it. Too bad I'm going single and I'm sure there will be too many couples there though.
The chance of some tourists getting killed between the Lehigh Valley and JFK is much greater then one being killed in Cancun by locals. As for the weather it will be hot. Great time to spend in the pool and ocean. As for being stuck in the hotel zone you are only stuck there if you do not get on the bus and go to downtown Cancun to explore more then just the hotel zone or go down to Playa to Xcaret or Xel Ha or even Tulum. That way you will not be stuck in the hotel zone. If you do not want to go that far then try Isla Mujeres just across the bay and easy 25 minute boat ride.
PAGurl.... this hotel seems to attract alot of younger couples, when people come to Cancun for some reason, ALOT of friendships are formed. Like I said, my friend Danny was at the Solaris in January and again earlier this month. He ended up befriending a group of about 15, couple and singles who were here on their yearly reunion. They all met at the Solaris. Soooooo.....if you give a little effort, meeting new people who can become lifetime friends is up to you. And Gabesz made some great trip ideas to get you out of the Hotel Zone. And just to clarify...Downtown Cancun is NOT where Coco Bongo is. People think that is it, and it gets under my skin soooo bad. From the Solaris get on a bus and it's about a 40 min ride.
