Here's a solution: Legalize all drugs in one state, distributed by the government. Alaska would be perfect. Detached from the Lower 48 and you would get cross border shopping from British Columbia. Maybe even Russia. All the druggies would move to Alaska. Employ them in the Oil & Gas industry providing an increase in U.S. domestic supply. Profits from drugs sales go directly towards paying down the national debt. Have it paid off in no time
I have a feeling.. within my lifetime.. Hawaii and/or Alaska will end up on the auction block.... when our debtors call in their checks.. at least the US has the assets (ie: land) to spare.
It's funny how the all mighty dollar can make anything ok. Cuba's exports are so minimal that it's easy to make them illegal but China is an economic power so a "little" thing like their politics can be over looked. *L*
The United States has many flaws and is depressing at times but lets face it we are and have always been the world's police/saviors. Look at other people's war's that if we never entered would not have been WON. Canada wouldnt have its free medical if the USA wasn't so close to them. Lets face it any country invading Canada is a direct threat to the US and we would eliminate them quick. Therefore no need for a big military. So knock it as we all do but no doubt the USA is a great country even with its flaws. Be thankfull we are not all talking German or Japanese. Remember the men who dies to save the world to be what it is today. The USA the country I love has problems and is screwed up but I sure do love the country and no place better than home.

Why??? I don't understand your logic here? After World War 2, Canada had the fourth largest navy in the world, that makes for a pretty big military, perhaps not to this day, but back then. No one is saying the US is a bad country, it is a great country, as is Canada a great country.

I'm going to try to do this without getting angry. 1. I have no idea how you can relate our Health care to the US being next door. 2. No one has tried to invade England and the US isn't beside them so your logic is flawed. 3. The US did try to invade Canada once and was defeated. Google War of 1812. 4. The US is not the only world police out there. The UK, Canada and many other countries do more than their fair share of policing and providing aid. I can understand why you're misinformed. News in each country rarely focuses on news of what other countries are doing. Your history books are written from your point of view. For example: When it comes to D-Day in the US you learn about Omaha beach. In Canada we learn about Juno beach. And in England I'm sure they learn about Sword beach. History from your point of view will put you in the forefront of the story.
