    Hola,

First time poster. I am going to be in cancun staying at the OMNI from the 15th to the 20th. We booked the hotel for 3 people but now one of my friends wants to meet us down there and stay in our room. Does anyone know what the policy is about that at the OMNI? Do we somehow need to come up with an extra wristband or something?

    Thanks!

i'm staying at the Omni the 12th to the 19th with one friend. i'm counting on them being cool about bringing people back to the room, but who knows about actually sneaking someone in for an entire trip. i do know that we don't have the all-inclusive band, so the wrist band thing may be irrelevant.

    where you flyin from?

all inclusives do not allow outside guests without a nights charge or the day pass fee. I don't know if the omni is AI or not.... but if it's not, you'll have no problem. however, if it is AI... what my hotel does is just charge 120/nt for the AI package for random additions. However they do not allow more than 3 per room at my hotel. some hotels allow 4. So you may be able to just have them pay the nightly rate that they have. I would suggest calling them directly.

Omni may have an AI option, but i will be there the 12th and know that i don't have AI.

i've heard both things.. positive things from people having no problem with bringing in guests, and i've also heard from people who just got back from cancun saying the Omni was being strict.

i thought to call, but i'd rather not, since it's not going to change anything. no reason to give them anything to think about.

If it's not an all-inclusive, it should be just like any normal hotel... some hotels claim they charge for extra guests in the room. But I've never had an issue. If it's all-inclusive, you'll likely have to pay for a day/night pass. Unless you can get them inside without the staff at the front noticing... hope that helps!

Yea, there is an option to buy all inclusive, but I'm not buying it. Hopefully they don't care too much. I know you can have 4 to a room at the omni so worst case is I'll get shafted with paying the extra $50/person fee or whatever.

I will be there from the 14th to the 19th by the way.

Not true for Cancun. Even hotels that are not AI are pretty strick about people using their facilities. My Dad stayed at budget hotel once and every time I walked up to the front entrance, they would check with the front desk if I was listed. I coldn't go anywhere but the lobby. And it also happened at the Avalon which has the AI and non AI option....like the Omni.

Those are my expieriences, and maybe not all are the same. Good luck!

Omni is not strict at all. It's like a normal hotel. Nobody checks for wristbands. If you come home too late, somethere there will be security at the door asking you your room number. That's about it.

just a heads up.. i talked to 2 guys who just got back this weekend and stayed at the Omni. they were given a hard time when trying to bring people to their rooms.

maybe they beefed up their policies, but just something to keep in mind.

I haven't noticed any beef up security.
