Honestly I have some reservations about booking a vacation at TTR. What I'm looking for is a place where my wife can relax, and feel comfortable wearing her Weasels or going topless. What I don't want is people coming up to us and trying to initiate conversations or take pictures simply because she's in a thong or topless. With all the swinging talk here I would think that we/she would be a target for not only swingers but single guys wanting a threesome. We are not into either of those things.
I would think there would be less because in order to swing one usually must-should be a couple...(less single guys)
When we first joined the only thread we really only read was the roll call. Everything sounded great and looked like alot of fun, and so I'm telling everyone oh check out this site it will tell you all about Temptations, I've been trying to get friends and co-workers to join us. And now when I'm back and checked out some of the other threads and the stuff I've read had me concerned and embarrassed about what some people may think of us. And like a few of you I agree the name Temptations does make it sound sleezy, our first vist it was called the Blue Bay Getaway and we loved it. However with all that said I tell everyone about Temptations, its so much fun, people are there to have fun, you can have the best of both worlds, crazy fun at one pool or quiet relaxation at the other, beautiful beach, wonderful food. And no matter where you go there will always be someone that is disrespectful or you don't agree with their behaviour. But we are not here to judge. Nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit. And what happens at Temptations should stay at Temptations.
I've been holding back from getting on this topic as I had a rather famous run in several years ago when someone asked if there were swinging pressure and I said that we didn't feel any at all and that generally the swingers have some sort of sense that tells them who does and does not. I won't comment further on the analogy I used other that to say that a few folks took it not for the spirit intended. Anyway, not the point. I think I'm seeing a few things here - and I have to agree with Glenn and Monique - it seems like the a huge number of the topics that are going on this board are for either single people or swingers who are looking for other folks to hook up with. When I started coming to this board back when the resort was the Blue Bay Getaway, prior to our '07 trip, the majority of the talk was about where to go, what to do, what's the resort like, can you really go topless all the time and in a comfortable environment, etc. etc. Now it seems like there's almost a competition for who can "outrageous" the next person on their trip report, who can win the competition of who's bikini is the briefest, who is going when we're going because we're looking for others, etc. Our experience with the resort was that it was much like "spring break for adults" - a little bit of naughtiness, a little bit of skin, but more instead like going to a comfortable corner pub where the folks sitting around the bar are your instant friends. Ever since the rebranding of the resort though, something I thought would be brand suicide, both the comments online and the reviews keep getting more and more like the folks want the place to be more of a Hedo/Desire type of spot, and less like the comfortable corner pub where everyone got goofy. Not having been to the resort since 2007, unfortunately due to the realities of a shrinking budget and increasing expenses, I have no measure of whether or not that is true. Therefore I was really happy to see this post by Glenn/Monique as I was hoping it would actually give me an understanding of if it is worth it to try to go back, or if we should shift our focus back to the Dominican Republic or a resort on Riviera Maya. Not sure why all the negativity had to creep into this thread - there was nothing that I've seen that says there's anything wrong with swinging. Back on topic though, my thought is that Steve should perhaps set up a specific forum for those "in the lifestyle". Would give those that swing a logical place to look for topics that they are specifically insterested in, and of course, there's the general resort talk area where perhaps things can get back to where they were - getting general details about the resort. We have gone to TTR 8 times over the last 3 years & as for as I'm concerned it has'nt changed. We have a Blast everytime we go. AS much as some would like it to be a swingers resort r would like to change it into a swingers resort it ain't going to happen. Thats not what TTR is about. Its about, going to a place where U can meet some of the greatest people from all walks of life & from all over the world. No matter how old R young U R it does'nt matter .It does'nt matter what color, religion, Tall, short, big ,little, r sexual preference everyone is there to have a good time.Even for those who have had some bad experiences , U will notice nearly all of them has stated, that they can't wait to get back. Lets stop all this negative Bull Crap,It vacation for crying out loud , thats where we go to get away from all the negative B S that we have to put up with in R daily lives.Lets talk about all the fun were going to have , who's buying the first round , who's top is coming off first, Dancing ,parties, ETC. 7 Weeks and counting, It almost part time!!!!!!

There are some very good points in this post but also some I think are not so good. There are 79 pages of topic on this forum and only a handfull of them relate to swinging so why should people in the lifestyle use a different forum? Why are those of you who are offened by the threads reading them and comenting in them then? The negativity has come about because as the saying goes 'people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones' and People have attacked the so called swingers and also attacted others by name even tho they use the swinging threads on a very regular basis including last night lol. That said Robnstew have summed TTR up perfectly and as tmac says it will NEVER become a swingers resort and nor should it, theres plenty of them around the world for us swingers to go to.
I agree. And they come down there with "expectations" thinking that it's a sexual buffet where they just pick out which one they want. I think that the name change has a lot to do with the increase in "creepy guys" and inappropriate camera usage. Marsh
Can't we all just get along...Like Tmac said "it's vacation for crying out loud". If you don't like what is being said on a thread don't read it anymore and don't post on it anymore. Start a new thread, but in starting a new thread don't complain about other threads just start a new one with the topic of your choice without ripping on other topics. And if you choose not to come to TTR because you are worried about the repercusstions when you return home, then don't come but there is no need to come on this site and tell us all your not coming...just don't come. Now back to the important stuff...I'll get the first round... MJ
