Make sure you are prepared for them. The people that work there are BRUTAL at nagging you to buy their stuff. I always take out of town guests to Mercado 28, and end up waiting someplace for them cause I feel like I may snap and hit someone. But they are a must....atleast once.

Sure, they nag and bother you, and are sometimes rude, but it's so entertaining. Some of the stuff you hear, things you'll be talking about the rest of the year, its that epic. You'll be offered things you dont see in the shop, best bet, dont entertain the idea, just politely say no and continue to browse around their shop

Never pay more than 5 - 10 USD for there T-Shirts. Key is to Wheel and Deal. Give your final price and politely say gracias and walk away, if they dont except. 9 times out of 10 they think they will lose your sale and except it. Just like taxis, have a set price you pay for where you want to be taken. Cabs are a dime a dozen...every 2 seconds one beeps at you. One will except your price. Always works for me....I hate the buses.

Really? That's something I don't know. How much do you usually pay to go from party zone to Oasis or vice versa?

Yes!! Flea markets and taxi's are my favorite part of the trip. Need a ride? (I grab my man/man-friends junk and so NO! I have one right here!! lol) and the flea market! omg! do not EVER go there in anything less than a PERFECT mood. I went there one time when i was upset at something and I almost went on a punching spree! lol. However, i love having fun with them! I sometimes act like I only speak Czech and I'll start speaking czech real fast to them. lol. Sometimes I ask them if they sell butt plugs or worse.

However, for those who want to shop.... NEVER leave without making a deal for at least, AT LEAST 50% off what they initially asked. I know they were asking 30 USD for sombreros and they dropped it to 25 bc i started walking away. Then the guy yelled "for you bonita, 20 dollar!" I turned back and told him I only had 15(and handed him a 20 lol) he accepted 15 bucks for it... but i later found out that a girl at my hotel bought one for 8 bucks! lol. They are bulky but i wore mine on the plane.

If you go to La Isla shopping mall.... all t shirts are 3-5 bucks at most of the stores. There is a really small store in the center where i bought 10 shirts for 28 bucks! (i haggled a few bucks off).

Shot glasses should NEVER be bought for more than a buck or two. If you buy enough.... ask for one for free. Always works for me. People always give me money up here to buy them things down there.... lol so i get free stuff out of the deal!

If anyone is buying those mexican art plates...... do NOT buy them for anything less than 70% off. When I went with my ex.... the guy wanted 120 bucks for this huge beautiful plate. We ended up leaving with it for 30 (also took 25 minutes of bargaining and acting like we were leaving).

Dont feel bad to have to bargain or "fake leave". They will rip you off if you are too nice or accept the first or 2nd price!
