The decriminalization didn't happen till Aug 19, 2009. But Cancun has always been like that for as long as I remember.

Regardless, I'm glad to see Mexico (and Prague) is moving toward a policy of fighting real criminals instead of harmless end users.

F'in WONDERFUL!!!!! Just another blow right before SB to discourage people to come to Mexico. This shit with the US knocking Mexico down at the knees has got to stop.
    But thanks for the video.

God damn media, always trying to sensationalize things. Next time I see a journalist, I'm kicking him in the balls.

Very true, it is nothing new and that is kind of my point. They have no breaking news to discourage people to come here, so they have to create new issues. I have been to Cancun more then 10 times in my life...and now living here. I frequent the HZ, and have NEVER been approached. This exact time last year was the Cartels...but those issues are 1300 miles from Cancun. They didn't care...Mexico is Mexico

What about Jamaica? I've been there 4 times and I don't think a day has went by when I didn't get approached by somebody trying to sell me all kinds of drugs. Heck on the shuttles from the airport they line the damn streets trying waving weed openly in hopes you'll stop. Must of been a slow news day and their "lead reporter" came up with a great idea for a paid holiday for him.
