Use this swing for the outrigger sailing? Could be an olympic event...

As a Brit I only have a small understanding of the Macqyver show. However when I was a kid my teacher taught me that you could make really strong structures from cardboard if you folded it right. So, my idea is to collect all the cardboard centres from all the toilet rolls at the hotel and construct a frame from them. The light weight would make it portable so you could bring it out to the sexy pool each day.... just dont get it wet....

Get a piece of 2" x10" plank. Cut it to 10" long. Drill 3 holes through it. 2 in corners on one side, the third across on the other side in the middle. Get a sturdy eye hook and screw it through the center. Take it with you to Cancun.

When you get to Cancun, go buy 3 - 10' long pieces of electrical conduit. If you don't think it's strong enough, buy 3 more just a little bigger and use them as a sleeve over the smaller ones.

Take them back to your room. Put the 3 conduits about 6" through the 3 holes and splay out the legs. Stand the thing up and you should be good to go. Should probably duct tape together the legs at the bottoms or something to keep them from splaying out too far.

    Should work.

Oh, then you should invite us over. It would be unsafe to try it alone.

THat was the inspiration for the above. I was going to get that one for travel but it doesn't give you the freedom of the real one. I'm pretty committed to bringing the swing and just seeing what can be created with a bit of rope.
