    Hi,
First time for my wife and I to this area
We love to snorkel, how easy is it to get to water we can snorkel in.
I'm a strong swimmer but my wife does not swim, she snorkels but doesnt swim.
Is there a cheaper way to get to cabo from the resort other than taxis.
Whats the weather like in March (going Mar.19)
Is the hotel next door completed, Id heard it was.
Anything else we need to know as first timers?
    Thanks
    Ken

You can not snorkel in the water in front of the hotel. It is really rough, and I was told very cloudy. To the point of not being able to see anything. When we were there in July 07 and 08 there was always the black flag flying. The ocean has a pretty strong undertow(sp). There is suppose to be some real good snorkeling in other area of Cabo. However, we never went so I don't know where.

As for transportation to the resort, the only one I've heard of is Grayline. They charge $28US per person. graylineloscabos.com

I know the water is not swimable at the resort and I know there are a number of areas that are. however they are near cabo san lucas. I was told the public transportation (bus) was available and cheap. I'm not asking about getting to the resort I'm asking about getting around once there. There are water taxis but I don't think you'd want to travel the 20 plus km to san lucas by water taxi.

Looking at Google earth there is a city to the NE where the airport is which is about 6 km from the resort. There is a city to the SW about 30 km which seems more for the tourists? I have also found out this is where the Cabo Wabo Cantina is in a earlier post... I have no idea of the names of these towns nor do I know what there is for shopping or entertainment.
So I guess I am asking if anyone knows what to do off the resort for fun shout out

    Hi Steve,
The town we are near is San jose del Cabo. Cabo San Lucas is the town about 20 km to the west. Del cabo is the quieter of the two. There still seems to be alot to see in Del cabo aswell as far as shopping, architecture, restaurants and bars. The wilder nightlife is found in Cabo san lucas. From what I've found there are swimable beaches between the 2 towns, Santa Maria, Chileno, Playa Solmar. Santa maria sounds great for snorkelling. Closer to San Lucas is Playa del amor (lovers beach) sounds like a must see, but you need to take a water taxi from the marina in San lucas. Sounds like March is a good time to catch the whale migration in the area aswell as viewing the sea lions and other wildlife.
Still researching to see what else there is. Want to rent a motorcycle while I'm there if it cheap enough.
If you find anything out let me know.
    When are you going?
BTW whats your interest in firefighting? I'm a Wpg. FF.

    Clubs etc...

We've been to The Cabo Wabo, El Squid Row, The Giggling Marlin...these clubs are all great--especially New Years Eve. :)
The best times we thought were when the locals gathered at the Squid Row about 1am and the music went local too. Great fun!
That said, when Desires Cabo (the resort Temptations replaced) was kicking it was as fun or better than the clubs -imho- and one needn't ever even leave the grounds.
Partying and dancing heartily with all of the folks you lay around with all day long laughing, drinking and joking is always a real blast. No taxis, no extra expense.
On one trip to Cabo we were staying at the Finnistera. We caught a ride back from the Wabo etc. with two other couples (they had a bug convertible) and we piled in above the rear seat. (The top was down.) The corrupt policia pulled us over and hustled the driver for $100.00 US or jail because we were seated illegally for the two mile ride. It was ugly and expensive. Ahh...memories.

    Anyway....

Anxious to see how Temptations plays out. It is our first time at the newer facility.

One thing is for sure, on recent '08 Desire Cabo trips we've had plans for fishing, sightseeing etc, but ultimately all we did was maybe get a few workouts in at the gym and/or volleyball everyday.
Something about paradise that brings out the lazy in us..... :D

We will be arriving Feb 22 around noon and leaving Mar 1 .
I am a Captian and the Training officer on the local fire department and have been a firefighter since I was hired back when I was 21. Im 40 now so it has become a big part of my life within the community. In 19 Years it is truly amazing what you see and encounter...just when you think you have seen it all something comes up you are completly unprepared for which is why I love being the training officer!!!
I assume the city busses run to both towns till the wee hours of the morning ? We

Ive heard about the police litebeam they can be brutal ...Last year at TTR Cancun they were at the resort for a direspectful drunk who pushed a security gaurd in the pool ... Once the 6-8 Security gaurds got done thrashing him the police were there to take there turn and haul him away

We found the exact same thing evertime we left the resort we found ourselves hurrying to get back so we didnt miss anything! The one thing we did really want to do is get on a cat tour with the other TTR guests for an all day party , swimming, snorkling and drinking. I dont know if this is offered but I m sure it is we just have to find it. We were hoping to get on something exclusive to the resort ...no kids, wild women and good times
