So I have 2 questions (just trying to consolidate threads here, esp since they go hand in hand):

    1) Purses: Do any of you bring your good purses to cancun? Every year i've brought a beach bag(walmart), a coach purse, a nice black dressy guest purse, and a tote for night time outings. Last year I bought one of those totes at the flea market that say:
    Cancun, Mexico
    Cancun, Mexico
    Cancun, Mexico
    Cancun, Mexico
lol going down both sides. It was like 5 bucks and I still use it here at home... but it's dirty and ill probably buy another one this year. It was great for the beach and for the nights out down town. I am a photographer so I need a bag that can carry my purse-wallet, camera(huge and heavy), 2 digital cameras(tiny), and a video camera.

Also, since it is my birthday while I'm down there... I was thinking about buying myself a Louie... but I'm not sure if I want to risk someone stealing my $1000+ purse. This goes hand in hand with the next one, because if there was a day where i wasnt going somewhere special, i could just lock it up in my bag somewhere. Any thoughts?

    2) Suitcases: So I hear that in some hotels, people that work for the hotel and sometimes even patrons steal stuff from you...... and even the maids hide the remotes or the safe key so that you will have to pay fees when you leave and they make more money of you. I was thinking about buying a TSA lock.... but doesn't one TSA key work on all TSA locks? and if someone stole enough things before wouldn't they be smart enough to have a TSA key? i mean they are only like 5-8 bucks at Target or Walmart, and there is a walmart down there. So they obviously aren't impossible to get. I usually hide the remote inside the zippered lining of my suitcase..... but i do bring my laptop, my coach purse and a few other things that are valuable... so i'm wondering what i should do. I mean i haven't had anything stolen the last 4 or 5 times, but the worst the economy gets, the more desperate people get. Maybe i should just buy a thick master lock that theres only ONE key to but it still fits through my suitcase zippers.

For the same reasons I am still amazed that people bring hundreds if not thousands of dollars in cash with them on Spring Break to avoid a few dollars in ATM fees, I don't see a reason why someone would bring items of significant value to Cancun.

Cameras and a laptop I understand, but I'd keep them close at hand or locked up at the hotel in a safe.

Expensive bags, jewelry, etc.... I say leave them at home.
