nah nobody is saying that. we just don't know the details of what her crew is doing. All I'm saying is if they haven't booked yet but may have thier heart set on the Oasis then maybe she can still squeeze in there with them, why book a whole new hotel? But if they already booked the hotel then yes the Omni is the way to go and then the day passes. My thing is she should as close to them as possible becuase you know how it is out there bewteen no cell service to just being pissy drunk. it's hard to meet up.

I was trying to see if I could just pay to stay in their room for the week in oasis but it looked like it was gonna cost me like $800 which is a bit crazy!! how much did you guys pay for the oasis if you didnt get it through a flight/hotel package?? Do you think i could just pay the $50 guest fee for every night I'm there??

me and Joe should be paying around 900 total but it's also at the grand which is a bit more expensive than a regular room at oasis and we are staying for march 11-15/16. we may add an extra once we are there after having already booked. I'm not sure what the exact price for that would be though for a regular oasis room but we figured around 50 per person for ourseleves as well. how many people are in your crew?
as a matter of fact last year they where going to upgrade us for 50$ a person a night to stay at the grand which is the same complex. so i definitely think they would just let you pay that fee very night. we are staying at the grand this year 4 nights there is 888 so 444 each.
Well, make sure you friends know that Omni is not all inclusive so they need budget for drinks and food separately. Unlike Oasis, Omni is really relaxed. There is no wristband and no security checking people coming in and out so you won't have to worry about not being able to get in and crash with your friends. It's a really nice hotel but not much spring break craziness going on there. For the craziness during the day, definitely go to Oasis which is just next door. Just budget about $20-25 per day for Oasis day pass. It'll allow you drink/eat/party at Oasis during the day. It's actually a really good deal because breakfast, lunch, and drinking all day elsewhere will probably cost you that much anyway. The day pass is supposed to only last till 6PM but you can probably stay till you get kicked out which means you get early dinner there, you are totally getting your money worth. I've stayed there till 8PM before without getting kicked out. Your biggest expensive will probably at night, especially if you want to go clubbing in the party zone. Most clubs have a $30-50 cover that comes with open bar. There are also a lot of bars in party zone with no cover and cheaper open bar option. Open bar is pretty popular in Cancun which makes the good old "find some sucker guy to pay for all your drinks" strategy a little harder to do than you may be used to. But it's still possible at some club/bar. Another money saving tip is to buy some hard liquor bottles at the duty free shop (if you are connecting, wait til right before the last leg of your trip) before you get to Cancun so you have something for your room. For example, Vodka is really expensive in Cancun because it's an import and load up on those if you like it. Stick around the forum. Besides, it's never a bad idea to make some friends before your trip. I'll be staying at the Omni myself from 3/6-14 so if you girls need anything, I can probably help you out.
Because as much fun as Oasis is during the day, it's a shitty hotel. In my opinion, there is no reason to pay a lot of money for a 2* hotel when you can get a 4* hotel for like 1/2 of the price.
yeah but to me that logic only applies to everywhere else in the world. spring break cancun? the way I see it your hardly ever IN the hotel room anyway, except for maybe that 1 reason, and then besides that your always out partying either during the day at the pool and beach, or at the clubs at night. mid day your eating or pre drinking and getting ready for the clubs. if your spring breaking you don't really see the hotel room much, which is why oasis is so popular.
