News is starting to trickle out now, not sure why there hasn't been any official announcement yet: UPDATE: Missing Teen in Mexico || WXYZ.com | WXYZ-TV / Detroit | Detroit News, Weather, Sports and More see video on right hand side for more
I am sure she is OK, I trust Tracey's source impeccably. It is the job of the FBI and the Mexican Authorities to release the news officially whenever they choose to. They may have very valid reasons for not doing so yet.
That which has been released is REALLY suspicious-sounding. I would not be at ALL relieved if I were the mother in question, but instead, even more worried. I hope the teen does some damage control soon because it is making Mexico look like it is covering something up.
Kathy, in this case, you have trustworthy persons- TraceyUK, Steve- asserting that they feel they have reliable information regarding the circumstances in which this young girl vanished. That's getting pretty close to first hand information, I would think. I don't want to make light of this, on the possibility that the circumstances might turn out to be different, but this young girl would not be the first person to come to Cancun and think life here could be better than that back home, if that proves to be what happened.

Age of consent It appears the age of consent in Quintana Roo is fourteen, so if the authorities are still interested in this case it would probably be to be sure that no abduction, assault or forcible intercourse occurred.
