Oasis Cancun is only $1000 per person if you book for two from NYC right now, including flights, on Orbitz. I plugged in March 6-13 or 7-14.
thanks for nice information. its hard to decide =) going to stay only 4 nights in cancun (18-22 over my birthday ) after this, i'll fligh to san francisco to make a roadtrip through california and nevada. is it true that european sleep in another part of the oasis? have you some tips for these 4 days? during they day oasis, but whats "a must" at night? guess it would be sooooo nice =)
No Europeans are not placed in another part of the Oasis Cancun to my knowledge. Everyone, nationality, race, sex, etc... are scattered all throughout the facilities based on room availability. For your 4 day stay.....which is better then nothing I suggest you play everything by ear. There is usually someone promoting or selling wristbands for whats hot that night your there. Listen around and see where the majority of the people are going. If 7 out of 10 people you hear are going to for an example The City Nightclub on Saturday Night thats probably going to be the hot spot. It is all personal preference on where you go and what you like to do. Hope this helps, and good luck in your decision.
I don't think the room placement is _completely_ random. I think it has a lot to do with who you book through. More specifically, StudentCity gets majority of the rooms in Phase 1 during spring break. StudentCity's clients are mostly American. That's why the ratio of Americans are significantly higher in Phase 1.
18-25yr olds are usually placed in Phase I traditionally....and this is usually the age range that uses Student City. The hotel tries to accommodate the groups by keeping them in the same area of the hotel, floor etc.. that is why a lot of times groups end up next to each other on floors. Depending who you book through, there is an option to choose what phase or location of the hotel you want. If there are no special notes...on there end you get placed where whats availible at check in. I know this from my experience at the hotel and speaking to inside individuals.
I can confirm that Europeans normally are on the other side of the Oasis Cancun, we were, riki and trigg were and many many many french and germans were. I think it is to do with who you book with StudentCity get first dibs on phase 1, then do the other student companies where as all brits will just be booking with a travel agent and won't have any requests.
