Hey everyone! Usually we fly out of philly and vacation for 7 days or less, and parking is only 10 bucks a day. This year we are flying out of Newark for 13-14 days, and it's 24 bucks a day. Sky/Park is 13 bucks a day.... which is still over $170 total. We were going to take NJ transit rail or even the bus(cringe).... but nothing gets in early enough. If there was a train station on the way that had free parking I'd have no problem. I loveeee driving to the airport and don't mind it at all. I just don't want to pay that high amount. I tried Amtrak but it's roughly 170 round trip(same price as just driving all the way) and that is only from philly to newark... I'd have to take ANOTHER train or bus to philly... so maybe and extra 24 or so each way. I wish I had friends or family near newark but I dont Can anyone think of any other options I may have? At this point, even taking a limo sedan is probably a similar price. Thanks for any help or suggestions
Find a hotel nearby the airport that has a shuttle. Stay the night before you leave and park your car there while you are gone. Shuttle back to the hotel and pick up your car. Jamie
I tried that.... the only hotel on airport property is the mariott.... with military discount its not too bad.... but two problems. My friend has to work the night before, and we are driving/flying together. problem number 2) Mariott is 25 bucks a day to park, EVEN IF YOU ARE A GUEST!!! talk about BS lol. I think the only possibility at this point in time is to take the last train in at 2am.... and sit around the airport for 8 hours... which would mean my friend probably couldnt work that night.... or maybe I can convince my mother in law to take us before she goes to work = free parking... but it might look bad that I'm going with another guy... BrentC...(its nothing like that, I'm actually inviting him to cancun to meet the love of his life... Mormis <3) otherwise maybe just getting a limo sedan. I do have a mother but i'd poop myself if she even offered to take me to the bus stop across town(not very generous). I guess it couldnt hurt to ask. Even if she could take me part way to one of the train stations, it'll get me closer!
I am from Philly, and when I go to NYC, I always take NJ Transit from Hamilton Station...off 295N. Parking is super cheap, and it goes to Newark. Try it
usually a livery limo service would give you a good rate if you prebook the depature and arrival with them. Search around usually they have fixed amounts on their websites.
New Jersey Transit It said parking is $6 a day up to 12 hrs, but I know you can do overnight. You may want to call for pricing. It's a beautiful station and I always feel secure leaving my car there in the garage.
cheap? hahhhh parking at hamilton is like 8 bucks for the first 12 hours and it goes up after that!! lol..... Unless you mean Hammonton. I'm not far from there.... its free but id have to take like 3 trains just to get to newark. but thanks neighbor <3
No, it's Hamilton, I used it weekly. Are you sure about the price, cause I know it's less then $10 a day? I would call to verify, but I think that may be your cheapest route.
Hey!! I just called Nexxus at Hamilton-Trenton station... he said it's 10 bucks a day or 102/month. Still kinda out of my price range. It would already be cheaper to just buy the month package.... but still idk.... heh I'm still hoping i can find a ride to the station.... it would make life much easier. Going back is not a problem because its mid day and all trains are running...... but on the way to cancun it sucks because we have to leave so early and the first trains dont leave to like 4 or 5 something.
what time is your flight? I say you pay a friend $30 to wake up early and drive you guys to Newark. It's not all that far from S Jersey
